Guild Wars 2

I’m trying to type chinese but a bunch of the characters don’t display right when I type them in. Is there anyway to fix this? Do I need to download a specific keyboard for guild wars or something?

I’m using Windows 7 home basic 64x and I have tried a bunch of the chinese keyboards in the control panel but they all have the same problem. Some characters show up fine and others don’t.

Sounds more like a problem with Windows since I suspect the game merely uses whatever language support the OS provides them as input. Does the correct characters come out in say Notepad?

Yes. I can type normally outside of the game. It’s only in game that the characters get messed up. And there are some really common characters that are messed up too like ni (you) and ma (a question particle).

Hmmm. Report it in the bug forum as well as in game. The game is targeted for release in China during the 1st half of 2014 so I would expect that they have this locked down by now.

I think it depends on the Font the game is using. I’m not sure if its using a custom font, or pulling another font from Windows that may not support those characters.

So is there any fix for it then via my side of the equation?

Well file a support ticket and ask them. It’s obvious that none of us have an idea how to fix it.
