Ultra Widescreen 21:9 Monitors
I believe the game can use all available resolutions your monitor supports as long as your graphics module supports it as well.
As for performance you are pushing 30% more pixels and I believe you will have a wider field of vision so more polys to process per frame.
I would suggest you look for CrossFireX/SLi threads about performance, I remember a few here.
RIP City of Heroes
Crossfire reduces performance slightly on this game but I think it likes SLI. If you’re powering something like a 7970 or better or a 670 or better then I think you’d be fine.
I’m running a 660Ti currently and haven’t had any issues. I’m hesitant to purchase any further upgrades before the end of 2014 (star citizen will be my next upgrade milestone).
Thanks for the help, I’ll browse the SLI threads and see what they say.
My bad, I shouldn’t have said CrossfireX but whatever the multi-monitor setups are called, Eye-something. I know someone was running a 5760×1080 setup.
RIP City of Heroes

GW2 should work fine.
As for the monitor, wait for Dells 34" 21:9 3440 × 1440p Ultra widescreen monitor.
1080p imo is on its way out, if ur getting a new monitor (no matter the size or ratio) go atleast 1440p.

I saw this monitor and would love one of these, but I sit pretty close to the screen so a 21:9 would be a lot of head turning.

I run 3x 21" LCDs at 1600×900 (5040×900 in Eyefinity). The performance drop is about 45% on average. So when going to that higher 1080p res, expect that much.
