I am currently unable to buy gems with a credit card via the Gem Store.

I’ve triple and quadruple checked my info. But I keep getting a “An unexpected error has occurred.” message at confirming purchase.
I hate to try to use Paypal as that tends to be really flaky and the gems take forever to show up, and I don’t want a half finished transaction out there if that wigs out too.

iirc the gem store/TP is browser based, is there a way I can check settings in a browser/clear a cache or something that might help?
Or a way to get gems elsewhere?
I had similar issues previously trying to purchase HoT (on a different computer from the one I’m on) if that helps.

Now I’m not even sure it the error changed or was that all along >.>

You can clear the cache by deleting all gw2cache folders located in the %temp% folder. (close GW2 first)

Only if you want to buy gem cards from another retailer.

Bleh, no luck.
Renamed folders, no change (old IT habit about not deleting things unless I have to)
Deleted folders, same
Deleted again and restarted, still no luck

Thanks for the suggestion though, was worth a shot.

I wish there was a way to just gift gems, I could try from an alt account and see if its account specific or not (I have had this problem from two computers now, although its been a bit since last time I tried)

Depending on what you are trying to buy with the gems, some items can be sent with gems. But if you tried a couple times and it didn’t work, let it sit for a bit, so it doesn’t get flagged as a fraud attempt.

Still no luck, paypal won’t work either, which is worrying.

This has happened to me on at least three occasions. Open a support ticket on it and they will get you fixed up.

Unless you are from Greece, you should be able to buy gems with paypal.
