and wait even more. Yeah I get it, this is “We’ll get to you when we feel like it” support. This support system is one of the worst. I’d love to know how my account just broke when it’s been working fine up till now.
The support system is really good and responsive. They just can’t respond to you instantly. There are thousands of players reporting thousands of problems.
In the mean time double check everything you put into the fields for making the purchase, including making sure your address and all is correct, and see if you have firewall or router settings that might block connections. Are you making a purchase from home or in a public place like at a university?
I’m having the same problem, and my thought was that perhaps there was a daily purchase limit on gems? I was hoping that might be the case before I went the extra mile to set up a ticket.

Sometimes it Bugs and you have to wait until later. I got that message waited about a hour went back and got them fine.
