I am having problems trying to custom exchange gold to gems. It does not work and if i click on it it sends me to the real world currency trade.
Possible for Anet to fix this?
Or is there any way to avoid this? I have tried on different characters.

On the Exchange page of the BLTP the “Custom Exchange” button is on the bottom.

Once there you enter the number of gems you want to buy on the Get Gems side and click on “Buy” button on the far right and not the “Buy More Gems” button underneath .

I have this problem too. The custom exchange for gold to gems isn’t working. I mouse over it and it says “Get more funds” which opens the USD to Gems purchasing. I can’t buy anything from the Gem store for now and it’s a shame it happens during the sale.

Mini update, others are having this problem and saying you have to buy at least 400 Gems or it won’t work. Is this working as intended? If so, it’s rather frustrating since I only need 150 more Gems for what I want personally. Lol.

Did you double click on the 400 gems to enter a custom amount?

If you haven’t been back since this got revamped April last year, you now select the amount of Gems you want to buy, not the amount of gold you want to spend.

Double Clicking doesn’t work. It is either some overlay bug or Anet is trying to be funny.

Same issue, overlay reads as “click to get more funds” when hovering over gem amount. Clicking sends me to billing options. Cannot modify gem amount from original 400.

Yeah still the same problem. kitten . If i try to click it it opens up the gem purschase thing. It works fine to turn g into gems tho.

I think I found what’s causing it:

If you don’t have the minimum amount of gold to get 400 gems (currently 90 gold) the game prevents you from setting a custom value.

I had 50 gold and I was having the same issue. I sold some stuff on the TP and reached 92 gold. At that point I was able to change the value from 400 gems to anything I wanted, even 2 gems.
Then I bought a couple of exotics, which sent me back to 88 gold. I was unable to set a custom gem amount once again.

I’m not sure this is the same for everyone, but that would explain why only few people are having this problem.

Pretty sure it is a bug and not working as intended.

Bug it in the bug forum and in game then.
