Unable to equip transmuted Staff
I’m not sure if I understand what you mean. Is the weapon bound to another char?

Also, sending a bug report from in-game will never give you a response.
I was killing in the field in Frostgorge and got a staff drop. (That means on the fly, on my character, I did not go back to town and try to give it to another character.) Pulled a transmutation stone from my bag right then and there and transmuted my Zenith staff I was using to get the better stats but keep the look of the Zenith staff I was using. Tried to re-equip and go on my merry way and it would not equip. It just gives me the choice to Preview or Destroy when I right clicked; although it is account bound. If I try to set it in the weapon slot with my mouse I just get a red outline. So, this is the third day she sits on a hill unable to play.
Also, admitting your in game bug report system “Will never be responded to” is pretty pathetic. First, then why have it? And secondly, the CS in this game is very wanting to say the least. I have been playing for nearly a year and have had to use your CS system through phone, e-mail, in-game and forums for various reasons and have only once received timely and considerate responses.
Please don’t bother responding to the rhetoric as it will just make me more frustrated; just fix my character already please.

First, please be kind to those responding, they are only trying to help.
Second, I’ve never heard of this problem in over 4000 hours of playing, which makes me think it is not a bug. If it is a bug, the way to get help with it is by using the Services—>Support link above and submitting a ticket. If the ticket is not responded to in three days, then return here and post the ticket number and Gaile will try her very best to help you.
Meanwhile, there are a couple of things you can try.
1. Go to lion’s arch and see if the staff will work there. Occasionally skills etc. will bug out during active play or a player will get locked in combat (during which you cannot switch weapons). Usually logging out, dying, or waypointing will remedy this (however, you cannot waypoint while in combat.)
2. Check the staff and see what level it is. It is entirely possible that the staff you found was one or two levels higher than your character and won’t let you equip it until you catch up.
3. Take a screenshot of your character with inventory open and the cursor over the staff in question. Post your problem and screenshot in the “Players helping Players” forum You would be surprise how many intelligent, game savvy types hang out on the forums just to help others.
Finally, I’m not sure why you used a transmute stone on the staff. You can obtain unlimited “Zenith” skins of any variety that you’ve unlocked by going to the achievements tab of your hero screen and picking the skin you want and clicking “Withdraw.”

I, too, am unsure why you are ‘stuck on a hill’. Can you not use weapon swap? Maybe your character is an Elementalist, but have you no other weapons in your inventory?
In-game bug reports are just that. A way to point out bugs while in-game, and bring them to the attention of the Devs. I am pretty sure it states on the in-game Bug Report that there will be no response. There is no phone support, and for individual one-on-one help, you must submit a Support Ticket either through the Support portal accessed from any Guild Wars 2 page, or through email sent to support@guildwars2.com The support staff will be happy to assist you, I am sure.
My suspicion was that the weapon in question was of a level your character could not use yet, but if it is not, assistance through Customer Support would be your best bet.

Oh, and remember, all Zenith weapons unlocked are just unlimited skins, so no transmutation stones are ever needed. That should save you some stones! =)
Yep – just go back to the achievements screen off the hero window, and the main window will let you reclaim previously unlocked achievement chest skins.
Also, I am not from support/anet. So saying “your support system” is not accurate. (although I might have misread that comment, not sure!)
I’m just telling you how it works, shrug. An ingame bug report does get looked at but will never give you a response, that’s just how it is.
Get a different weapon, there must be a merchant nearby, get something else and equip that or just map travel to get out of there. Just having no weapon does not make you stuck.

Two remarks. I think that many things are allready said. but…
1: You are posting in a public forum. The purpose of this forum is to discuss support issues and account issues. All posts with a white background are done by players like you and me. So please be respectfull to those trying to help you!
2: It happens often that people attack support cause of the limited way they are accesable. The reason is that other games do it in a different way. The reason for it has to do with money. GW2 is free to play. This means that the amount of resources they have is limited. This means that on a single in game bug report, you don’t get a personalized response (as indicated in the window) and why they don’t answer to everything here on the forum.
However. If you follow the procedure and file a support ticket you are always helped and you always get good support! They can’t always help you, but if so they do their best to explain it as kind and fair possible.
This way support doesnt have to cost too much money and the game can be free to play with still having a very good support!

I think you might have gotten an item that looked like a staff, but was rather something else that your character can’t equip. You then proceeded to transmute the correct skin type to it, but still didn’t realize your character is unable to wield said weapon.

It seems to me that the player here have tried to help you with their individual assessments of what may have taken place in relation to the item that you got. Thank you to those players who tried to help.
Trinkette, I suggest that you heed their comments and see if one of the suggestions they’ve made addresses your questions. If you need help in understanding what took place, or if you believe that something is “broken” in relation to your account, then a Customer Support agent may able to help you. But please note: the in-game report system is never intended for personal issues that impact only your account (as opposed to a general game issue) and the forums are a great place to ask questions (and get help from other players) but they are not the place to seek the individual help you may need if something truly is wrong with your account or an item you got. Basically, posting here with an issue and saying “Fix it!” is pointless — that’s not how support works.
