I just purchased GW2 ultimate edition with the expansion…And long story short it will not install. I get Unable to verify the Guild Wars 2 Executable shortly after install starts, I have no AV installed at the moment and that seems to be the reason most people get this error. So any suggestions would be great. I dropped 100 bucks would really like to try the game. heh

Make sure you have DirectX 9 installed. Even though you have Dx11. Make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date; they seem a bit old (2013).
Make sure McAfree and/or Malwarebytes is not interfering with your CoherentExe program. Not sure what all that is about Firefox, but Firefox has been horrid after the last few updates (I’ve been forced to use Chrome for some things…ugh. Lol.)
(I am no expert, just some suggestions you might try.)

TY for the suggestions, I do not have any active antivirus ect. Malwarebytes and McAfree is not active. Firefox is being a pita for the last bit but that’s unrelated. I sent in a ticket….trying to DL the .iso also to try install that way. Ill keep trying at it.

Is it normal to be goin on a new day without a reply to my ticket? Maybe I should just grab a refund now? I mean seriously no customer support number?
Response times varies depending on how active they are and the subject of the request. Average response time should be within 3 days, otherwise you can post in the stickied thread to raise your priority.
I’m assuming you were able to run and download Gw2Setup.exe? If a functioning Gw2.exe hasn’t be created yet, start be renaming Gw2Setup.exe to Gw2.exe and placing it wherever you’d like to install the game. Before starting, make a backup of a functional Gw2.exe for testing. Run Gw2.exe. It should start be downloading an update for itself, close, then re-open. If this is where it fails, look in the folder for another file that is roughly 20 MB and may be named Gw2.tmp. Rename it to Gw2.exe and try it.
Under Computer, right click the drive GW2 is on and select properties. Under the tools tab, click error checking and scan the drive for errors. If any errors were found, overwrite Gw2.exe with your backup and try again.
To prevent other programs from interfering, use safe mode. Although your anti-virus may be disabled, that doesn’t mean it’s not functioning at all. Some of them will even leave hooks in your system after you’ve uninstalled them, which then requires special removal tools. To use safe mode, press WindowsKey+R and open msconfig. Under the boot tab, check safe boot and select networking under that. Click OK and reboot to start in safe mode. Run Gw2.exe. To undo safe mode, open msconfig and uncheck safe boot.

I have tried all this, the installer stalls at 9240kb, same when I downloaded an .iso to try it that way. tried the repair as well. updated all drivers ect. Ive about narrowed things down to an issue with directx which makes little sense because I have other games that work fine. I get a cabinet file cannot be trusted when trying to install directx 9 and ive tried installing it many ways….same issue. Tried every solution I have found but none work.

From what program do you get that error ? Sound like either a virus scanner or
maybe your computer is simply infected by a virus / malware.
The “unable to verify” also sounds fishy. Never heared something like that and also
wonder what generates that error.
Maybe some screenshots of the errors and the list of applications in your taskmanager
can be helpful.

I asked for screenshots. Do you know how to do screenshots, or do you need a
brief description ?

GW2 requires DX9. Recent games are probably going to use 10 or 11, so they’ll work without it.

Judging by the error in your screenshot…
Ensure that the cryptographic service isn’t actually disabled. Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
The files could be corrupt, which causes their certificates to be invalid.
Try running DX setup under safe mode and additionally try the web installer (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35).
Open a command prompt (cmd.exe) as an administrator and enter the follow command to check for system file corruption:
sfc /scannow
Running Windows update (look at the optional updates) should help with some other possible problems.

cryptographic service is enabled. And I have re registered DLL ect. Tried running DX in safe mode same result with or without networking. every possible update optional included has been installed running SFC scan now.
