My boyfriend’s account vanished on the second of September.

The password reset option does not work because the email on his account was changed.

Yeah this is a huge problem facing a lot of people. If only you could change your email/account name if you had access to your serial code or something. The fact that you can change your account name anyways without any sort of authorization boggles my mind.

So what is the REAL story.

He does not know of any fan sites that he signed up for using the same email\pass combo.

I have heard of people having had this happen to them who made NEW emails\passwords for GW2.

Was this a hacking of ArenaNet themselves?

basically a list of emails have been gathered and posted on pastebin and other sites used by hackers, and they just have to use password generators to attempt to see which ones they can crack.. its not really hacking lol the security team was just not really prepaired for this…
