Unplayable Lag
Me too.
/body length 15
Today the lag isn’t quite as bad but I still notice odd things like players positions are jittery. I think it might be packet loss, but I’m not sure.
I’m getting the same intermittent lag. Resource Monitor shows 3 TCP connections for GW2. Below are the addresses and latency:
64.25.40.116:6112 — 250ms
64.25.38.54:6112 — 240ms
64.25.33.51:6112 — 66ms
For some reason, my ping to two of the IPs fluctuate wildly up to 500ms at some times. These spikes coincide with nasty lag that makes playing the game near impossible. Advice?
EDIT: I also checked the latency of the Black Lion Trading Post connections, and they are very low. The range of latency for the associated TCP connections was 31ms – 54ms. (These connections were to the 54.* IPs on port 443, and 184.178.98.224:80)

AFAIK Anet have attributed this to routing issues along the path from your location to the game servers. The only known fix is to sign up for a proxy service such as BattlePing, effectively meaning we need to pay a subscription fee to play the game lag free…
Funny thing is, a guildie who lives in the same city, and on the same ISP hasn’t had any lag, so I’m not sure how that factors in to the “routing issues” reason Anet has given.
Here’s hoping they actually look into this, as a laggy MMO is not a very entertaining experience.
Yeah been getting quite enjoyable lag in WvW for the past month or longer.
Makes meleeing fun, makes the game look pretty, makes pvping really fun and competitive.
Only in GW2.
This has been an ongoing problem for me for months now. In fact I’m sitting looking at the loading screen for Hoelbrak for coming up on 5 minutes now. It’s not just loading times either, massive skill lag, sometimes in the realm of 20 seconds before activation, location porting of myself and other players while moving around, and inventory lag. BLTC doesn’t seem affected (but pretty sure it’s run on a separate server anyway). Occasionally I’ll get an error code of 7:11:3:191:101 which I’m pretty sure is a routing issue. Only happens on this game and I too can ping anywhere in the world and get 0 packet loss and a maximum of 69-79 ms at any given location. About the only thing I can reliably do anymore is wander around killing ambient creatures…. The problem with me sending in yet another network diag file is that this only happens on my EU account, my NA one isn’t affected and I don’t know of any way to test how it’s routed only for when I use the EU one.
