Guild Wars 2

Hi

I have had Guild Wars 2 since it came out, and no problems.
Not played for a week and now when I play, I get Black Screen at random times.
I have not changed any Hardware on my PC or Drivers.
It only Started happening two nights ago.
I have already tried the solution posted on : https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Black-Screen-Issue-AMD-ATI/first#post38195

This has not solved my problem.

My System Specs are the following
Operating System: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200) (9200.win8_gdr.121119-1606)
Processor: Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 6850
Display Memory: 2804 MB
Driver Version: 9.2.0.0

If the stickies in the tech support forum don’t help you might want to make a ticket. However, don’t hold your breath though .. there’s a lot of black screen/crash errors floating around unresolved.

Its made the gaming impossible.
I can not play without getting a black screen every maybe 5 or 6 mins from starting the game. So no dungeons for me, no story missions, no fractals due to this.

delete local.dat

for me, disabling anti-aliasing completely seems to fix it

same problem. before the last patch, no issues at all, now every 3-4 minutes black screen.

Have you ever run your GPU at 100% for an hour or so to see what it does in a benchmarking/testing app such as FurMark?

Doing so will at least rule out any instability on your side with your video card.

Does the crash result in you having to reset the computer because it froze? And are you also playing at 1920×1080 or more on a DVI port? If so you should probably go to catalyst control center and under My digital flat panels>Properties there is an option to “Reduce DVI frequency on High-resolution displays” make sure that is checked. I get black screens all the time if that isn’t checked on my 7950.
