Upcoming PC Build Advice
Looks solid to me
Mushkin Black 16gb 1600 | 500GB Samsung 840 Evo |2×2TB CavBlack| GALAX 980 SoC |
NZXT Switch 810 | Corsair HX850 | WooAudio WA7 Fireflies | Beyerdynamic T90
Any particular reason for going with an 830 over one of less expensive 840s?
I think the memory is a tad extreme but kids nowadays, it’s all speed, speed, speed.
I’m assuming overclocking is in the future so you need to pick a nice CPU cooler.

These a few of the main parts I plan to get on the upcoming Cyber Monday(Black Friday for online Electronics, mainly an American thing). Just seeing if anyone thinks it’s a well rounded setup.
This will be my first Intel build, deciding on GPU closer to build date and my current PSU is more than enough for the new build.

The memory is over the top the Intel will only use 1600MHz unless it’s overclocked and the 1.65 volt memory is not made for Intel you wont 1.5 volt memory. Just get the 1600 MHz of the same memory with the tighter 9-9-9-24 timmings that’s 1.5 volt.
Intel can use faster RAM np.
2400mhz is a bit high end and it may save u some money to go down to 2133 or 1866mhz but if u want 2400mhz then go for it.
Get a 840 Evo SSD if u want one.
My advice though would be not to get kitten yet.
If u have the choose between an i5 + SSD, or i7 .. Get the i7 and get kitten later down the line.
make sure u get a good aftermarket cooler for OCing.
