I want the expansion but the price is too much for me. I bought the original game when it first came out but now the “standard” version HoT will cost me about the same as the original. (it will cost me close to 70$CDN with the exchange rate and about the same if I walk into EB Games or a similar store) Any promo codes around?

Yep—-way over priced for an expansion. ( CDN too) And from the various threads and other sites not worth it even if you could get it for $40. Sticking with the core until it is a reasonable price.
