Alright so currently I have a basic Acer laptop with the following specs:

Phenom II x2 3.0ghz
4 gb ddr3 ram
Ati HD 6550m 1gb dedicated graphic card
windows 7

I’m looking at upgrading to a Lenovo
Intel Core i7 3630qm 2.4ghz
6 gb ddr3 ram
Nvidia geforce gtx 660m 2gb dedicated graphic card
windows 8

As far as it goes the Acer is doing pretty good for me but I’ve had it for about two years now and decided that I wanted to upgrade. I don’t know how GW2 works with windows 8 or the specs of the new computer. Any help would be appreciative.

That laptop should do well (for a laptop) with GW2.

Just dont except desktop perofrmance. You will still drop below 30 fps in places.

Those specs are very good.

But You could also try to look For MSI/Asus gaming series.
They tend to be cheaper then lenovo and MSI usualy gives better components ( made with more care and from better materials ).

:) just a hint

I just need one that runs better than what I have which isn’t bad at all just everything’s on low – medium settings. The lenovo laptop I’m looking at has the same specs as a MSI but 899 whereas the MSI one with the same specs is about 1099…Although I use MSI parts in my desktop builds I just need something that’s not the best but good enough for gaming on the go.

You wouldnt wanna go lower on the specs tbh.

So if u dont wanna spend the extra for the MSI ..get the Lenevo and just keep an eye on temps since i hear they can suffer form high temps.
If it does start getting to hot some small DIY mods can help fix it.
One being a Laptop Pad with a fan on it, the other being hard mods to the Laptop chassis to increase airflow.
