Hello, I just downloaded the game for the first time, now after all the patching and updating I can not get the game to launch. Every time I get the same error, VerifyAccess failed or denied access with 0×80070716 – 1, anybody have any idea that don’t include re-downloading a 6 hour download? I’ll leave the full error below.

I am also getting this… very frusturating. I’d like to play. Posting so I can keep up.

Same thing is happening to me and since I read your post and you just started playing. It leads me to believe there is something wrong with the Local.dat file.

Today I deleted it because I am kind of OCD and like to start fresh with my cache files every once and awhile and after I done this I cannot launch the game.

When it tries to re-download the Local.dat file it does it very rapidly and it use to do this it would take 3-4 seconds.

Please ANet look into this. Thank you.
