The last two times that I tried to play the game, I was told with a pop-up that the game needed to check its files because there may be a problem, and then needed to sit through it going through 285K+ files and ‘Verifying Archives…’ to tell me that there’s no issues. Is this something that’s just going to happen every time now? How can I get this to go away?

Right click your shortcut. See if there’s a “-repair” at the end of the target. If there is, remove it.

Like Scoundrel said, most likely you’ve at some point appended “-repair” to your shortcut in order to let the game perform an archive validation. After the repair is done, you’ll need to remove the “-repair” from the target line to prevent the game from attempting to do the repair again.

Nope, none of that. I just redownloaded it to a new hard drive too.

It will stop asking, im guessing that whatever map you go into when its loaded has a broken texture file somewhere and when you close the game the file is corrupted so when you restart its asking you check,

Ive noticed this more recently espically when people are reporting bugs on certain maps, my party was in Brisban Wildlands the other day doing some mapping, and one of the hearts where you have to collect ooze essence, from the cave, when we went into the cave to interact with a switch we all got kicked with the same bug, we all where asked to verify the archive.

Hmm, but this is happening before it even loads the game at all, and with me in two completely different locations, on two different characters, when I logged out before it happened each time. I hope it does stop though because sitting through it counting down the files as it runs through them isn’t doing my anxiety any good at all.

Have you tried telling it “No” and see if the game plays normally, ive done that before.

In a stern voice and everything. No treats until it starts behaving better, that’s for sure.

Anyone have any other ideas? I’m not able to do anything else other than wait through this every time I exit the client and open the game again.

Have you tried creating another shortcut?

Sounds to me that your hard drive is failing or is to full.
