Ive used my splitter on rox’s quiver so that i could have the option to choose it in pvp again as it came with the scraps, i was under the impression after being officially told that it would give you back the original items, now thats 300 gems down the drain, can i get my splitter back?
Dunno,
You have to ask support. you can do so by clicking ‘support’ on top of this page and then go for ‘ask a question’.
It is a situation I have never seen, so not a clue what they can do bout it or what their policy will be.
Keep in mind that a SKIN is handled differently than an actual equipment item. You claim you were “officially” told the skin would be generated from the split, but I’m sure support is going to ask for that quote and it’s source (and I’m curious myself).
I think there has been a lot of confusion on this issue but it certainly appears that the Splitter knows NOTHING about the skin applied to the item being split. That Definately needs to be cleared up, but I’m not sure how you make it plain to anyone purchasing the Splitter (a disclaimer on the item description in the Gem Store that states it does NOT return skins…only items?).
i Dont need to post sources of comments and what not tbh, the official description of the item is this “Will return the original appearance item and stats item from an existing transmuted item. All items will remain soulbound.” when you purchase the quiver you are given 2 items, the back scraps and the quiver skin (cant be equiped its a skin) when you use the skin you are asked wether it be pvp or pve. so we can establish that before selecting it is conisdered the original appearance item and the scraps are the stats item, however the point where i have been lied about is where i am told it returns the “original” item back, if i do not get the option to choose pvp then i do not have the original item back do i.
Please dont read the post in a negative manner i dont mean to rage im simply frustrated that ive had my gems wasted due to anets misinformation
Is applying a skin considered transmuting an item? Not according to the wiki, it seems. Did you transmute the quiver onto another item? When you split it did you get the skin (PvE) and the other back item? Getting the skin back to the choice of PvE or PvP would seem to be two steps back, not just one. So, maybe that is what is meant by ‘Will return the original appearance item and stats item from an existing transmuted item.’ Not original skin pre-transmuted.
You transmuted it after you chose whether you wanted to use it on PvE or PVP, no? I think it is considered two separate actions in sequence, with a warning saying that it was going to be permanent.
Transmutation splitter only works for the transmutation action, which in this case, is after you chose PvE.
No harm of trying to suggest this in Suggestion thread tho.
Genesis you’re right, this is the response i got back from support on my ticket, even though its admitted that theyre contradicting terms due to the splitter having to be a bit more of a generic tooltip, i still feel that my splitter is wasted.
