Weird Crashes! Totally!
the only option i have seen work is to underclock your GPU 10-20% until they can get the game optimized correctly. Thats wat i had to do to get my game to run smoothly
Thanks for the advice ill go see if this will help.
Bad news, I finally got to make my character, but now when I play the game it does the same thing. With in a minute of playing.
Make sure your video card drivers are completely up to date. Visit www.nvidia.com or www.amd.com whichever you have. My video card is overclocked by 10% and my CPU overclocked at 4.1 Ghz and I’m having no problems.
Updated all my video card drivers, and it still happens, I don’t know if this will help, but my video card is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 280
Same thing is happening to me. I log in, and minutes or seconds after the game starts, the screen changes to a single solid color (a different color every time) and the sound skips.
I’ve updated my video card, so I know that’s not the problem in my case.
do you know what temperatures your video card is reaching? you can download GPU-Z to display the temperatures (think you can even write it to a log file in the event of crashing) and see what it peaks at.
Wierd colours and stuff like that is usually either a fault of bad video memory, overheating or unstable overclocks (some manufacturers factory overclock cards to gain advantage over the competition, but sometimes it doesnt work so well)
Thanks for the reply, Refraction. I’m trying to see what temp the card is while the game is running, but I can’t get the game to run for even five seconds now. The screen becomes a solid color and everything is unresponsive as soon as the character selection screen comes up.
My video card is a GeForce GTX 550 Ti with updated drivers as of yesterday, if that helps.
Are you having troubles with any other games or just guild wars currently? Also do you have anti aliasing forced on in the nvidia control panel or anything?
