Hello there,

I am at my wits end for this. Unless I run the game at the worst graphics, I cannot get 20-40 FPS consistently.

I have tried unparking my CPUs, updating Graphics Drivers, boosting the game specs (Razer Game Booster), making GW2 a higher priority than all other programs, running nothing but Guild Wars 2.

I have a pretty nice computer, nicer than my boyfriend, but he is able to get higher FPS than me with better graphics. We use the same internet, but my computer has better specs.

After tweaking around things, I can get my FPS higher, but a couple minutes later, it goes back down to 10-20 FPS.

I am reluctant to open the tower to clean dust off of things, but it may be my last option at this point. Is there any other options? I have tried for days. This used to run better on my laptop, and it can barely run League of Legends.

Specs of my computer:

Windows 8.1
ASUS Desktop CM6870
Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 cores)
16GB Ram
x64/64bit
NVidia GeForce GT640

Any idea guys? It seems to be only GW2 that I have been having this problem with, although my FPS has dropped only a little on League (still easily playable). The delay in GW2 is horrid though.

Thank you for your time!

I have had this issue. First, I have to say to check your temperatures on your cpu and gpu. I use the program Speedfan to check mine. It could be your cpu is overheating and down locking, and you are not noticing. Happened to me, and I had to buy a cooling pad. Cooler master u3 is what I bought.

Secondly, I communicated with support for this issue and it seems that for me, my intel had 3000 gpu was running gw2 and not my nvidia. So I recommend checking yours. This is what they had me do to check mine:

“To start, can you “Right-click” on your desktop and select “Nvidia Control Panel.”

Click “Manage 3D Settings” under the heading “3D Settings.”

Next, click “Program Settings” on the right window.

From here, click “Add” then navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder location, which by default should be C:\Program Files(x86)\Guild Wars 2.

Click on the file “Gw2.exe” to add this to the list.

Lastly, select ’High-Performance Nvidia Processor" from the “Preferred Graphics Processor” drop down menu."

That fixed my issue for now at least. I hope this helps you

There is no Preferred Graphics Processor option when I went to go do that. :/

Looking into the overheating though.
