Guild Wars 2

so today this has happened twice (and never before in the past) but when im playing my computer will randomly start making this weeewwww weeewwww weeewwww noise (and i can mute the noise if i turn down my computer volume) so its not an external zomg your pc may explode type noise i dont think. but the second time it happened my entire computer froze but people were still talking in the background on team speak so i dont think its heat related (if it was the entire computer would have froze not just guild wars)

my question is: Is this guild wars, or wtf?

forgot to say, it sort of sounds like a European ambulance…if that helps…. im thinking it may be a sound bug from some classes spell or something im not sure. its only happened when around a large group of people.

GW2 will tax your system to the limit working it very hard. Fans will spin harder trying to cool your PSU/CPU/GPU. Fans do wear out over time especially in hot environments.

Check your temps and open up look at the fans. Only other thing that makes noise could be your DVD drive or spinning HD.

Another guess would be the the soundcard is getting interference from inside the case or maybe soundcard driver issues. No clue what “Weeewwww Weeewww” noise is lol

lol, thanks for the reply im going to seriously record the noise with my mic but i dont think its my computer because i can turn the sound down with my keyboard so i think its a software issue?

Is this the humming noise that usually occurs when many effects are on the screen? And you need to reboot the game to fix it?

If its happening in WvW then it’s a known…and very annoying bug. I hate to say it but you will have to suffer through it happening occasionally in WvW like the rest of us until they fix it.
