Weird graphics issue (With images)
I have an issue similar to this except my whole computer will freeze whenever it looks like your second screenshot. I have an EVGA 570 as well.
The freezing is so bad I’ve quit playing GW2 entirely.
I do have exactly the same issues as on your screenshots, i do have a 680GTX
Mabe you have Ambient Occlusion enabled in your Nvidia Pref. Panel by default? If yes, try to disable it.
Best thing I’ve found is to have defaults set on any profile for the game and make sure everything graphical is dictated by GW2.
Have you guys tried updating to Beta Drivers?? Technically speaking its not the fault of the game but of AMD and Nvidia for not releasing appropriate updates to prep for this.

Yup. I’ve got the absolute latest bleeding edge beta drivers. And I don’t blame Arenanet. Just wanna see if I can figure out what the issue is.
Ambient occlusion is on. Do I need to disable it or is there a way to make it application controlled?

Best thing would be to go into the Nvidia Profile and reset it to default and run over the options making sure they’re all set to “Application Controlled”. Out of curiosity, do you come across these issues in other games??

I left it on, but under Guild Wars 2’s Program Settings I turned it off.
No not that I’ve noticed. Just Guild Wars 2.
Had this happen on my gfx also but only since updating to 306.02 to add Ambient Occlusion. Rolled back the driver to official released and works perfectly again. Didn’t matter which options were chosen regarding disabling AO in driver or game but the bug remained so waiting for another Nvidia beta release before disrupting my gameplay.
I had the SAME issue. Close GW2, disable ambient occlusion in Nvidia control panel and open GW2 again. I solved like this.
PS: I reported this bug in my own topic, next time use “search” before open a new topic because the “Tech support” section is already full XD
Have to agree this is an Ambient Occlusion issue. It only happened for me when I installed the 306.02 drivers (which ironically supposedly now support ambient occlusion in GW2), and disappeared when I reinstalled the previous beta driver, 304.79. Get a grip nvidia.
There is no need to downgrade drivers. Just disable ambient occlusion when GW 2 is NOT running and the run it again. Problem solved ^^
agreed, this seems to be indeed an ambient occlusion problem, disabling it for the game fixes the see-through terrain glitches.
Sad that the game doesn´t support this feature as it looks really nice if it works.
Btw: for those of you that don´t want to reenable AO every time you close gw and have nvidia gpus, google for “Nvidia ispector” wich is in my opinion the best tool to manage game profiles and tweak settings for each program individually
