What Should I update for Guild Wars 2?
everything, period.

GTX 560 Ti
Actually, a better video card would go a long way. Memory as well.
I have similar specs and can run at the highest graphic settings with decent frame rate. What’s different on my system is that I have a much better video card and 8 GB of RAM.
So, consider those two options.
EDIT:
For reference, I have an AMD Radeon 6770 video card (1GB of GDDR5 memory). It also occurs to me that if you upgrade your video card you might also need to upgrade your power supply if you only have the stock one (which is usually around 300-350W).

Everything.
:edit:
Dont bother with only the ram, it won’t give you kitten. the gb size (5) wont be a bottleneck. its only the speeds, and they wont matter much.
BTW how did you get 5.1gb ram? that odd number seems like something fishy to me

I’ve been doing some tests with my new Nvidia 660, and someone’s older 460.
Basically the newer card has almost zero affect on the frame rate (maybe 1-2 frames)
I’ve tested this on my rather old Intel Quad Core Q9550 (2.83 GHz) system and someone else’s newer i7 920 (2.67 GHz) system. It looks like the frame rate is heavily influenced by the CPU (other people have noticed the same thing).
The 660 card runs about 20% faster in the i7 system compared to the Q9550 system. That speed difference is very close to the difference in their CPU speeds. So it really looks like the CPU is a major factor in frame rate.
You need a new computer that old amd chip will choke on this game.
Changing everything is probably the best route to go. Your current system is quiet old for anything new :P
Change everything.
When you computer gets that outdated its hard to upgrade any single part wihtout requiring to upgrade other parts.
In your case you need a new cpu ..which would requir a new mobo ..new ram. Then the gpu would be slowing you down so you would need a new GPU.
Chances are with all that you would need a new PSU ..maybe a new box if ur current one isnt ATX compatable. If your HDD and optical drives r not Sata ..u would need new ones of those aswell.
letting a computer get that out dated means when you upgrade ..you spend alot of money in one go.
you have 2 choices bassicaly with a gaming computer.
1) Spend little and often. So upgrade a apart or 2 every 1 or 2 years ..or buy a whole new computer every 2 years that is just good enough for the game of said year. (~$1100/£700)
2) Spend lots rarely. So every 4 or so years buy a whole new computer that can trounce that years games and games of the next year or 2. (~$2200/£1400+)
I personaly go for option 2, but it does requir you to have a large sum of money free in one go. The advanatge however is your in a position to play games for atleast 2 of the 4 years at max settings and max resolutions whilst having max or close to max FPS.
Option 1 is better when you dont always have the money free in one go..but you will rarely play >up to date< games at max settings.
Both options work out at roughly $550/£350 a year to keep a gamign rig going depending on how far you spend.
