Tired of this game running like crap, 10-15 fps in Lions Arch makes me vomit and I’m on my recommended setting. Changing to lowest doesn’t increase my fps in the slightest.

Specs:
CPU – Intel Pentium G620 @ 2.60GHz | Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology
RAM – 4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz
MB – ASRock H61M-DGS
GPU – AMD Radeon HD 7770

I imagine its probably my CPU and MB that need upgrading, so if it is the case I’d appreciate recommendations how to upgrade with a $200-300 budget.

Your CPU is bottlenecked. LA is a fps dip for everyone. Turn down cpu hogging effects like Shadows and reflections will help a bit. You can try overclocking the g620, not sure how well it can with your motherboard. My Q6600 OC to 3.2 gets 20-30fps in LA.

If you want to upgrade then get a core i5/i7 2500 CPU or higher, your motherboard should support it. Look at this cpu chart

Look here for reference of other people’s build & FPS

$200-$300 is more than enough to upgrade thatCPu to a i5 or even an i7.

I would recommend getting a i5 ether a 2550k or 3570k (your current motherboard IS compatable) then also buy a high performance air cooler like the Noctua NH-D14 and OC the cpu to around 4.5ghz possibly higher if u get the 2550k.

Any spare cash left over u can save for when u have more money spare for a new Graphics card. The 7770 is perfectly fine for GW2 but i will bottleneck on high settings.

With that cpu, so long as u keep the Graaphics setting low enough to stop the GPU form bottlenecking, you can play WvW and not drop below 30 fps.

On the topic of OC’ing, if u find your mothboard does not have the capability to OC very well. (which tbh i dont know much about ASrock motherboards) then that spare money u have left over should be enough to buy a good Asus or Gigabyte motherboard.
