Who has OOM crashes with AMD GPUs ?

Never crashing, But i use Medium character limits and High Character models. OOM means your client cant access paged memory for whatever reason.
All windows 64bit.
HD6970M – Win10x64
R9 M270X – Win7x64
295×2 – Win7x64
R9 280x – Win7x64
R9 270x – Win7x64
R9 390 – Win10x64 (new ITX build work in process, so cant say its 100% stable yet but no crashing yet)
So you should adjust your in game settings if you are crashing with OOM.
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
I’m not having any issues at all. I’m running sweetfx and these settings:
EGVA SuperNOVA B2 750W | 16 GB DDR3 1600 | Acer XG270HU | Win 10×64
MX Brown Quickfire XT | Commander Shaussman [AGNY]- Fort Aspenwood
I’m running close to max settings on my 4gb r9 380 & only had 1 oom crash in dragon’s stand so far, even though I’ve been doing that meta event a lot.
I have constant crashes, usually every hour or two or during events and wvw.
i7 6700k
32gb DDR4
M.2 hdd
64 bit windows 10 pro
AMD R9 Fury
Game ran sweet before HoT..
Now I’m getting floating effects/ghost images on my screen and constant OOM crashes.

Oh .. i have no crashes, like i said it was just out of interest. Forgot to say i use
a R9 280x with Win10-64 and these settings :

Anet has been looking into OOM crashes, here is the Reddit post…

PS: Lets hear how good your card is then…
It’s interesting that Turbine are blaming a spate of crashes after the latest update to LoTRO a couple of weeks ago on Nvidia cards, even though in their case it’s clearly their game client (32-bit) trying to access more than 3.5Gb of memory according to TaskManager.
Is it the same issue here I wonder?
That said, Iv’e not so far had a GW2 crash but LoTRO crashes 2 or 3 times an hour for me in the new LoTRO zones.
R9 Fury on Windows 64bit, crashes few times a day since HoT. All graphics maxed.
So .. the R9 Fury seems to be the bad boy here.
@Faoiltiarna.4271
Have you tried to set down the character model limit ?

Lotro has already consumed a lot of memory years ago. This picture is from 2010
and i think at that time a lot more people still had 32-Bit Windows.

I am not planning to lower anything down on a PC that can handle The Witcher 3 on 60fps and everything on ultra. Seriously i wish they already swapped to 64bit client with dx11 already. My memory is like 5gb free anytime i play so it isn’t about my PC. It is about how the game uses it’s memory. Same about graphics and processor that don’t even sweat.

Then have fun with even more crashes .. yay .. some people simply don’t want help.
Btw.: How often are there zergs with 100 player characters, all with different armor
Skins in the witcher ?

this is such flawed thinking. The only setting you need to lower is character limit. As that is what really drives the memory in the game client. You lower that, you probably stop crashing.

Why would i do that if i have few gb of unused memory? 2-3gb used memory is not much. It is gw2 client that needs optimization and/or upgrade.

because GW2 is a 32 bit application and can only access up to 3.5GB of ram total. That is why.

Then maybe Anet should focus on optimization and lower memory usage so we can play the game the way it is ment to be played?

Rofl. Witcher has models weighting bigger textures than entire zerg. Gw2 is 32 bit crap using dx9 that even WoW turned away from. Maybe they should reconsider using worse textures if their client can’t handle their own creation?

I think the point you are completely missing here is, the Game client is as its going to be for a while. I doubt we will see an upgraded client anytime soon (if ever) and we all must make adjustments to compensate its short comings.
If you do not want to then you will suffer from OOM crashes. Nothing else can be done.

Than have fun playing the witcher for the next 3 years .. beacuse I don’t want
worse textures only because some people a too stubborn to change 1-2 settings.

It just says all about the game when you have to turn options off to actually be able to play
And no problem, if Anet keeps on destroying this game i will surely go back to witcher since it is an actual masterpiece.

and yet, you are here. just get over yourself and do what needs to be done.

random crashes all the time. it is NOT my pc. game ran perfectly fine before hot launch. witcher3/gta5/shadow of mordor runs without any issues.
other pc is: 4790k, 32gb of ram, gtx760 2gb. same random crashes.

Drop that Character model limit down to Medium or Low and your crashes should stop.

it wont make the game look worse, it just lowers the number of Characters on your screen. if the game’s quality dropped then you got something else going on.
