Guild Wars 2

I convinced a friend to try out GW2 for free. So he is but I cannot join his instance.
First I thought it might be because he’s only lvl 9 but now he’s lvl 11 and I still cannot join his instance.

Are you both in the same region (NA or EU)? If not, you will be unable to party up.

Yes we are, both Europe. And we can team up, just not meet.

What server are each of you on?

What error message do you get when you try to join his instance?

I am on Gunnar’s Hold, I’ve asked on which he is: no reply yet
I am not getting any message, I don’t get the option ‘join instance’

Find out what server he is on, just incase he picked a NA server.

Yes, it seems he did choose a NA server. He doesn’t remember selecting North America but somehow he did.
Anyway, seems that’s the answer.

Good to hear you figured it out. If your friend wants to transfer for free he can by deleting all his characters. Just have him put and non-soulbound gear in the bank and make sure the server he wants isn’t full.

That doesn’t work for ftp accounts.

Thanks for the heads up. If you are sure on the info you should update the wiki. I just checked both the f2p and transfer section and neither say anything about f2p not being able to transfer.

I suppose he could just make a new f2p account on your correct server.
