RazGerb The Machine/Tempest/Inferno
~The Best Rager Ranger NA~
(edited by RazGerb.6173)
I have been playing this game since it began. I’ve logged over 4 thousand hours and I’m to the point where I can’t stand these low frame rates. In PvE I get an average of around 20-30 fps anywhere, in WvW it’s even lower. I’ve withstood the low frame rates for years and now it’s just unplayable compared to the other mmos which run completely fine on my computer.Every other triple A title I’ve played on my computer play at a smooth 60 fps on the highest setting, what is different about gw2 that makes it so CPU Intensive? Why does Gw2 run so bad on my computer? How can I make it run better? Is because gw2 heavily prefers intel processors?
Computer Specs:
OS: Windows 8.1
CPU: AMD FX8350 @ 4.0 GHz
GPU: GIGABYTE Windforce HD7870
RAM: 16GB RipjawX @2400Mhz

Have you tried this program yet: http://www.coderbag.com/programming-c/disable-cpu-core-parking-utility
It gives a nice boost in CPU intensive games, not just GW2.

Sorry to hear, I know it’s bloody annoying. A while back I swapped from the same cpu over to a 4790k and haven’t looked back. No real other fix for your dilemma:(
Provide screenshots of cpu-z, gpu-z and ingame settings.

gw2 is a mmorpg. I do not understand what do you mean by other mmo because other mmo that has the same scope and scaling as gw2 does have this problem.
You have to realize how friken small a regular triple AAA game is. Many devs uses tricks to keep that you from realizing that your sandbox is about the size a of an average department store. The problem with this game is that it surpasses the scope of those games making your processor work harder. Even more unfortunate, some of those interactions cannot be multi threaded. No it probably does not prefer intel processors. It prefer processors with better single threaded performance.

Hmmm, I Haven’t Tried Using A Program To Diagnose Performance And Graphic Issues … I Assumed It Was From The Multiple Patch Uploads From Last Week.

Why are you capitalizing every word?
What are the CPU/GPU and related temperatures looking like with the game running?
I’m assuming the screenshot you posted isn’t with the game running, or you have a lot bigger problem with your clock multiplier at 7×.
Also, it is recommended in general to turn reflections down a notch, until you get everything resolved, it tends to kill frame rates and provide minimum graphical boosts.

Your Core Speed is 1,4 GHz ? We need the values when GW2 is running.
Your CPU should run at max speed, and bus interface should go up to @x16 2.0
Also .. how do you get that 144 Hz ?
