It seems that such a simple feature would have prevented me from being hacked not once, but twice.

The first time I got hacked I chalked it up to bad luck. No password change confirmation email or anything. Fortunately I lost nothing.

After the first time, I did everything Anet asked, upped security, scanned and cleaned my systems, changed unique passwords to new unique passwords.

The second time I got hacked, again no password change confirmation email. I lost 7 gold, and anything in my bank storage that was not account or soul bound (crafting mats, upgrades, etc).

It seems as if one simple, common security feature in pretty much every other password system out there could have prevented all of this.

So why is it missing?

My opinion is that there was something like this that was supposed to be in place and that they had no idea it wasn’t working somehow…

Who can say, maybe it’s not simple to do with their data system. Maybe they could just change the email address login’s to something else we make up so that it’s not as easy to guess?

It shows up empty for me, too. But it works on my husband’s computer/account.

Who knows?
