Q:
Will it run on 10.6.8?
A:
Officially 10.6 is not supported.
That being said, your results may vary depending upon your hardware and driver support. Some people are able to play while others encounter crashes. We would liked to have supported 10.6 but were unable to because of the lack of driver support.
We do not prevent you from playing on 10.6 but I would highly suggest upgrading, I think you will find the experience much more enjoyable.

NO i don’t want to kill your hopes and dreams but I sincerely hope your internet provider doesn’t impose bandwidth caps on you because if they say there is a minimum sys req that usually means that they actually require it..
My mac has all the requirements except lion and im pretty sure im not allowed to update it because it is provided for me from school. Might have to call yolo on this one
Well, the version constraint on it is 10.6.8 in the plist, now there might be an actual binary problem that might stop you though. Dont get your hopes up.
I’m currently running it on 10.6.8 and no problems at the moment however I have heard of people with my macbook specs getting double the frame rate I’m getting so I could be losing some because of this.
Thanks IMMO this helps my confidence
Just upgraded to mountain lion and I am getting about 20fps more then when I was running with snow leopard
Bump. I didn’t have my pretty ArenaNet flag when I originally posted.
From what I can tell, the game will run rather smoothly on 10.6, my settings having been hovering around the middle ground.
It runs fine on my vintage-2007 iMac under 10.6.8.
Your mileage may vary.
I use Snow Leopard, and in testing the Mac Beta, it has run very smoothly indeed, without any hiccups (other than connection errors that everyone else has experienced). Like others have said, everyone’s machine may bring varied results, but I’ve had very good results myself.
i only get laggy in busy towns and wvwvw clusterbomb zones
