Don’t expect consistent 45+ FPS.

GW2 has the worst optimisation for an MMO iv seen, FPS WILL drop below 20 in WvWvW, large Dynamic events, and FPS in busy cities will be around 30.

PVE and 5 man group content will be 60+.

That said, u cant do much better than the specs u have listed. So ull get as good as can be got.

The spec will play pretty much all of the game except for wvw fights at enjoyable FPS. You’ll learn to find enjoyment in the lower FPS in wvw fights because its not going to get higher anytime soon and you’ll be glad it won’t be 6 fps. I honestly don’t think there is a way to increase the fps because of how cpu bound it is in that regard.

setting everything to lowest would probably enable you to have visible player count at maximum and still have pretty good fps so you know what’s fully happening in wvw.

also yes lowering everything will result in massive boost in fps.

smooth is such a relative term.

The first thing, and I’m really surprised no one asked, what is the resolution of your monitor(s) that you are planning on playing this game on which that system?

As of late, I feel this game is designed around 1600×900 in mind, and anything higher puts 2x-3x’s the stress on GW2’s directX9 pipe that renders the data to your GPU. So running at 1080p yields far less performance then it should. Same with ultra wide setups (surround and eyefinity).

The higher the resolution, the higher end your hardware needs to be. Also the lower your in game graphic settings need to be as well. But this all comes down to what you expect ‘smooth’ to mean.

If your idea of smooth is 90-110FPS in the environment (60-80 in combat with 25-30players), and 18-38FPS in a heavy zerg. then your system will do that well.

If your idea of smooth is 250FPS+ in the environment, 80FPS+ while in combat under all scenarios, then your in for a rude awakening. No system can do that with GW2 currently.

Desktop: 4790k@4.6ghz-1.25v, AMD 295×2, 32GB 1866CL10 RAM, 850Evo 500GB SSD
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD

If u lower all settings, u can increase ur FPS but WvW and other player busy areas will still have crap FPS as it is not bound to the graphics settings.
