Yes, that helps tie things together. Unfortunately, the details don’t help much in telling us what actually caused it in this case.
Could try running -repair and see if it helps in this case.

Exception c0000005 errors are mainly connected to video driver issues you could try uninstalling and reinstalling your video card drivers upgrading or posably downgrading the driver, good luck

I’ve been getting the same thing. It’s frustrating, crash once or twice every meta and have to pray I can get back into the stupid map.
And I’m running an i7 6700k @4ghz

Guys – its not the system. I’m been running the game for years on this system. It started with the 2/23 update. ProcessCount is not an issue with only 38% of the memory is being used and CPU % is low to mid. I’m running the newest drivers by Nvidia.
I’m not the only one getting crashes; several of my friends have also since the patch. We were all stable before it.

Thank you for the suggestion. I do system admin work for Oracle on their datacenters across the global. It’s not a resource issue.

I’m also experiencing some severe crashes since around that date. I can’t be certain it’s the same cause, but the timing of it seems impeccable.
My symptoms are that whenever I’ve played for approximately two hours, and for no reason whatsoever, my entire system locks up. Everything’s frozen on all my screens, and the only solution is to cut the power by holding the power button. Where I am or what I’m doing seems to have no correlation to why it happens – one time, it was while doing the Dragon’s Stand meta event, another after just having finished the Hearts and Minds story step, yet another I had just finished crafting 150 Mithril Ingots in LA.
Before these lockups started happening, I had been playing the game flawlessly, though my sample size isn’t too large considering it’s a brand new computer (from early January).
I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread, hopefully someone finds a solution – be it ANet or someone random – and it might work for me too.

Do the people that you know that crashed too using similar hardware? And/or also running Windows 10? Was it the same Exception of c0000005? It very well could be a driver/game conflict. They are constantly tweaking just about every aspect of the game, as you should be aware, and graphic drivers are constantly tweaked on the newest hardware, this is a recipe for conflicts at some point. Additionally, Windows 10 seems to be causing widespread issues with a lot of things. Which is typical of a new release. It also has some inherent limitations MS imposed on it for arbitrary reasons. It’s entirely possible GW2 is hitting these limitations. Or It could even be some new win10 update. I don’t know, I’m avoiding win10 due to bandwidth usage and I question MS’s reasons for not allowing some things to be turned off. If is an update, wouldn’t be the first time a windows update crashed only certain games.
But as you should be aware, an issue with a few machines, but not the majority of machines, makes it a bit more likely it’s something more specific to said machines.
Also, just because other games and applications work fine doesn’t necessarily mean much. Different games hit the system in different ways. Something I didn’t see asked yet. If you are overclocking, that could cause issues. Although I believe GW2 is not as crash happy in overclocks now, but it has happened before. It’s entirely possible they changed something that is a bit sensitive to overclocking on your chip/chipset/memory brand whatever. It happens. It’s also something that wouldn’t be as apparent as to the cause.
I would look at it from different angles, and give Anet more information, especially if multiple people are using the same graphic driver versions, same operating system version, same cpu, etc., especially if no overclocks are going on and the crashes still occur. Something so they have hard information to point to, look see this? Perhaps we can make a change to prevent this, or perhaps it’s the fault of nvidia/amd/intel/whatever. But I rarely ever see that done. It’s usually just ‘here is specs’ it’s not my hardware. No indication if running 5 year old drivers (obviously not case with win10… I’d hope.. ) or the newest, freshly released, that could contain an unknown land mine accidentally inserted for an unsuspecting game to step on.

I have the same problem and I am using windows 7 sli gtx670 cards.
Doesn’t matter if I run the game 32bit or 64
My crash has changed from window dropping down with a pop up crash report to just a freeze and no report sent after using Ctrl alt delete..
Sometimes I can get back in to finish the boss many times I miss out
When it was sending crash reports I am certain I sent them like 3 or 4 a day…
Tried the file repair but nothing seems to work, so far, sorry to see so many other people with the same issue to be honest or maybe it is a good thing and they will put a few engineers in a room and lock the door till they come out with a solution
I’m having the same problem, but only when the game has to download patches, I have Windows 10, an i7 6700k and gtx970.
The game crashes when it starts, if I can give to log on and play, it works fine, but I have to try 20 times to get it.
Any advice?

The GPU software or any other nvidia hook in GPU Software?
The reason I say this as it has a nasty habit of crashing GW2 – there is some weird conflict that goes on with these two items. Yea I know it’s a useful piece of software.
