Hello guys

I just installed the Windows 10 Creator’s update and the game doesn’t start. After the login process, the game window force-closes and the process from the task manager is magically gone.

Does any1 else have the same problem?

If you have any overlay software (or maybe anything else hooking into the game to provide more features) running try disabling that. I know I had problems with RivaTuner Statistics Server (also bundled with MSI Afterburner) after the Creator’s Update.

If you’re using RTSS you can add an application profile for Gw2.exe/Gw2-64.exe and set the application detection level to None, effectively disabling it just for Guild Wars 2.

I had a similar problem. Login worked okay but when I hit “Play” the Guild Wars 2 Game Client would disappear from Apps in the Task Manager (and appeared under Background processes?).

I updated my nVidia GeForce to 378.78 and this seems to have fixed it.

Hey,
I wanted to post about this just right now I had the same Problem. Starting the client worked, but when I pressed Play I got a message “I dont have DirectX 9 installed or something with graphics driver” lalala… I guess installing the creator update early without the “day1patch” brings stuff like this with it. I reinstalled the nvidia geforce driver and now it works.
Btw 378.78 is not the latest, its 378.92.
Cheers

Cool. Thanks buddy, it was indeed MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner the culprits.

Glad it worked. You’re right, 378.92 is available if you select US. I’ll probably wait until the UK ones are available though and stick with 378.78 for now.

Same here,
After update gw2 simply stops after selecting start.
Update Radeon drivers did not resolved the problem.
Tried everything i could.
Really disappointed
