Guild Wars 2

I downloaded windows 10 on july 29th when it became available.

I didn’t have any issues running guild wars 2 until tonight.

Tonight, whenever I tried to enter the Arah dungeon, the game crashed every single time.

I tried to enter other dungeons and I got a very nasty visual bug.
My character and other characters are missing parts of their bodies, colors are all wrong. Lots of dark reds and greens where there should be whites.

Have you tried to reinstall your video cards drivers from Nvidia or AMDs site?

Right click with mouse on installer (to get different options) and then use “Run as administrator” to get the higher privilege as administrator during install. Normally you shouldn’t need to do that, but in this case it might help to avoid Windows 10 from blocking something during install. The same goes for changes to GW2 client for the first install.

I haven’t been in Dungeons yet, but so far I have been with Windows 10 since it was released in beta for Windows Insider and I have been playing Guild Wars 2 and never had that kind of problems. Although I let both Windows 10 and Nvidia GeForce Experience check for the latest video card driver on my system.

Is this a clean install of Windows 10 or did you have another Windows version installed?

What minor issues i have encountered thus far are:

1. Speaker pop sound every time when launching GW2, normal during playing the game. Its like the soundcard has to be initiated everytime, doesn’t happen when on Windows 7 so don’t know whats up with that.

2. Black screen in between loading screen where normally changing zone only shows the loading screen, no couple of seconds blackscreen.

Make sure you have all the latest Windows 10 drivers from your hardware manufactures web sites including the commonly overlooked motherboard chipset drivers. Also if your are running an older system check to see if there are any windows 10 drivers available, if there not, then you may want to think about updating it might be time for a new system.

I updated my amd drivers, that seems to have fixed the issue of the game crashing when entering dungeons and the visual bugs.

ok to day I got my up grade for windows 10 frome the 8.1 it was bad enough I had probs with 8.1 to the point to Download GW2 was a two month effort in witch support was going to toss in the towel but not I now to win 10 well at least I don’t have to down load the game but when I go to log in graphics all messed up I’m talking LSD TRIP FROME HELL
messd up of corse MS got a big bad revew now any one else have this prob or an ida as to what I need to do to get this cuse I hate EM tag with support and realey don’t want to spend two months fixing this obtw it seems to be doin same on GW too

My suggestion is to post in Tech Support rather than here. Or just read the many threads with help and suggestions there.

I never got any kind of problem in either GW or GW2 after upgrading, actually after my upgrade everything works fine including GW. Maybe it’s a driver issue with your gpu, however it might be simply the graphic settings. When you upgrade to a different Windows version the game’s graphics settings aren’t saved. Just go to the graphic options screen and set the correct settings and it will be fine.

Have a look at the thread in Tech support that I did on Win 10. I’m not saying that will work for you but it might be worth a shot.

Have you got the latest drivers? I know.NVIDIA had new ones on day one. Mine went a bit funny right after the update, but a restart fixed it.

Truly…if you allready had these issues in windows 8, it doesnt seem that windows 10 or GW2 is causing problems, but your computer is.

with that, I don’t mean just the hardware, but the entire setup. I’ve dealt with computers all my life and with these kind of complaints the first thing I would check is when you last did a clean install and check what kind of background programs are running. After that I would take a look at drivers.

- Get your new Windows 10 key via Keyfinder
- Burn ISO image
- make a fresh install

Sounds like you have the Nvidia 3D drivers installed. Try uninstalling them from the Control Panel.

When you upgraded from win 8 to win 10,did you manually install All your drivers,and are you sure windows update didn’t overwrite them ?

Lot of people tried GW2 with win 10, so mainly not the game is the problem. try update your video and sound driver first. windows 10 update does try to keep old OS’s setting as much as it can. But not the driver case, it will use all its own driver first.
