Hey,
ever since I upgraded to win10 I’ve had massive fps and lag problems ingame. I used to have 90-140fps in dungeons and now its somewhere between 15 and 58.

Is it really just the driver issues still or maybe some other problem? Also if someone wants to gather some data or what not, hit me up with what you need.

My pc specs: ASRock B85M Pro4 motherboard, 6gb ram, i5 4570, gtx 760 msi twin frozr, and got GW2 installed on a 120GB Samsung 840 Evo SSD.

Edit: Maybe we can get a sticky threat for Win10 related issues?
Edit 2: Compatibility mode seemed to fix it a fair bit, but still nowhere close to my old benchmarks

Thought I’d add to this since I’m experiencing the exact same issue. I’ve got a i5 3570 overclocked at 4.5ghz and a GTX 970 and while before updating to 10 my setup was way more than adequate for GW2 (about 80-100fps without vsync), now I’m getting between 10-25 MAYBE, on the same settings. What’s funny is that basically every other game and MMO (Like black desert online) I’ve used has actually gotten a performance bump since upgrading.

Same issue here. I got about half frames in heavily populated maps. For example in HotM when there are a lot of people I used to get ~50 fps on single gpu and about 70fps on sli. Now all I get is 30-35fps. I noticed GPU power usage is always maxed out on about ~44%. It seems to never go above it while GPU usage is all the time 99%. On win8.1 both of those values fluctuate (power up to ~103% and gpu usage 50-99%).

Did you make sure core parking is disabled? I think it can cause problems like this.

No it’s not core parking. CPU is always at max clock.

Have you installed the Windows10 version of the drivers? This means you select W10 in the OS when you download the drivers.

Yes. I installed few of those w10 drivers with oldest ones being from May.

Seems the problem is only with Nvidia. I just upgraded to W10 and gained 4-5fps with my r9 285.

Did you try to check for Power usage also? In my case it’s lot lower than normal ( maximum ~45%).

I read something about Samsungs EVO SSDs being a cause of low fps lately so I’ll check that out once I’m home from work and will report back to you!

Yeah It’s TRIM problem on those. But if you have latest firmware it shouldn’t be a problem. If not try Samsung Magician.

So, I did update my firmware and also did the Samsum Magician Advanced Optimization and what not, but it didn’t seem to help at all.

Edit: I also seem to experience a lot of issues with borderless windows in any game or app. Whenever I actively use the borderless window’ed game (gw2 for example), every other program I got open (lets say my obs or twitch streams) runs with seeminly 5fps or less.

My FPS is more or less the same, but it simply “feels” as if they are worse.

Where i really can touch the difference is when i want to teleport and scroll the
map .. the map scrolling is much slower.

The good thing is i made a fresh Win 10 install on my HDD and still have my
Win7 on SSD so i only need to switch the boot device

Intel i5 2500k and Radeon r9 280×.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

Ya so…pretty much at my wits end at this point. Have tried uninstalling and re-installing Nvidia drivers multiple times using a graphic driver wiper. Tried Updating my Bios. Tried putting a bunch of my OC settings back to default and still having the same issue. All I guess I can do is wait and see if tmr’s patch (assuming there is one) addresses anything or wait for a new nvidia driver…

Think I found the problem. Today I installed very old drivers 347.88 and my fps is back to normal. Unfortunately it’s WDDM 1.3 driver so no DX12 for now Hope nvidia fix it soon. Just to be sure send a suport ticket to nvidia via their site.

I have similar issues since I upgrade to Windows 10: The FPS went down considerably, most notably near the Mystic Forge in Lion’s Arch. The settings are the same as before the upgrade. Even if I change to Best Performance, I get only about 35 FPS there. Also, my drivers are crashing every other time when I minimize the game.

Specs:

  • Intel Core i5-4670K
  • 8 GB RAM
  • Samsung SSD 840 Pro 256 GB + Samsung SSD 850 Evo 500 GB (GW2 is on this one)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 TI
  • Windows 10 Home 64-bit (clean install)
  • Driver: GeForce Windows 10 Driver 353.62 (installed via GeForce Experience)

Same happened here,

First day update to window 10 everything is fine, FPS is almost same as window 8.1 , after 2 -3 days, problem comes. FPS drop to 19-20 in lion arch.

Specs:
I7 4790k
8 GB Ram
2TB Western Digial Black
NVDIA GTX970 (Driver:353.62)

While other games also have problems (e.g Heroes of storm 10 FPS in character menu) but I find overall FPS have drop and some still maintain the same e.g Shadow of mordor (average 80FPS) , CS go ( 100 FPS previously maybe more I not sure)

Everything is fine here and I think I may have got a slight increase in fps on my system. For those that are having issues with Windows10 its most likely a driver related, did you get ALL the latest drivers including the most commonly overlooked motherboard chip set drivers. If you don’t install chipset driver this will cause issues with the video card

To add to this, it’s even worse in Verdant Brink. I currently get about 17 FPS on the lowest settings.

I can also confirm that this workaround works. Went back to 347.88 from 353.62 and my FPS have gotten a boost. Mind you, still not what it was back on 8.1, but at least the game is playable at about 30-55fps now with my 970. Obviously this issue is driver related, but I have no Idea what they did that breaks guild wars for the windows 10 drivers…..

PVE has in general improved for me since I upgraded to Win 10. My problem is WvW now. When I still had 8.1 WvW worked really good for me, but since I upgraded to 10 its been fairly low as soon as the fights gets big.

This is happening to me as well. I have GTX 780, Xeon E3-1230v3 and 16 gigs of RAM. My FPS essentially halved from around 60 to around 30 with mostly maxed out settings. Verdant Brink is unplayable, like 15fps even with lowest settings.

Wanted to chime in as well.

Computer Specs
GPU – 2x EVGA GTX670 4GB SCed | CPU – i7930@3.8GHz | MoBo – ASUS Rampage III Extreme | 12GB Corsair Dominator GT | Display – 3x ASUS VE258 25" 1920×1080@60hz | OS – Win 10 x64 | Sound – ASUS Xonar DG 5.1

Prior to my Win10 update I was netting 45+ FPS on nVidia surround, that’s now down to 15 max. Using 1920×1080 puts me at 45 max with some input delay and occasional frame drops to 15FPS.

No sense in rolling back to Win7 until this is fixed and going forward is now a waiting game to have it resolved.

Edit: The game is installed on my Samsung 840 EVO drive w/ TRIM enabled (240GB)
