Guild Wars 2

Windows 7 freezes when GW2 client runs this is consistently happening. I dont know if this is a Driver issue. I suspect the LAN driver or worst (the physical network adapter itself).
I have a brand new rig:
MBoard: Rampage IV extreme
Vid Card: ASUS MARS 2
Mem: corsair platinum
PSU: conrsair HX1000

have tried to change the video card, RAM to my old one and this still happens.
I’ve attached the game advisor. Do you guys have any idea on what’s going on here?

I was expecting a Realtek adapter when you mentioned LAN drivers but since it’s intel they are pretty solid unless there is a conflict. Stating the obvious, I would make sure all drivers are up to date.

Is anything in the system overclocked? Some BIOS auto settings are terrible, so I would recommend setting the following manually if not done already:
- Vcore
- Vdimm
- PLL
- Memory timings specifically: CL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS, CR.

You could also check for bios updates, although typically this would be last resort.

Hi, thanks for the response. It was overclocked before but I did a restore to default settings to rule out any issues with the OC. Drivers are all up to date. I’ll check the LAN and the HD and if there are no issues there, then I’ll probably do a bios flash.
I hope its not the motherboard.

When does it freeze exactly? When you click the client, or when you’re already playing?

Tech support here always recommends SP1 for Win7, so maybe you might try installing that.

I’ll also check the BIOS settings that you mentioned. Thanks for the advice!

Hi XcomCaveRat.4059, it freezes when i click the client. I haven’t got into the playing part yet due to the issue.
