Guild Wars 2

i just updated my pc to windows 8 pro x64 today, others games can start only problem is GW2 once login at characters screen the game goes to Not Responding. is there any way around it? latest driver for ati 5770. directx everything up to date. any1 have same problem as i do?

Hi, one suggestion is to right click on your gw2 shortcut, and select properties. From there click on the compatibility tab, check the box under compatibility mode and select (under Run this program in compatibility mode for) windows 7. Under the privilege level section, check the box run as admin.

That is pretty normal.

My Advice is to make sure you update your AMD Drivers to 12.10(while 13.1 is out, I’m having performance issues with them…Big time)

Once you launch GW2.exe and let it sit with the big white non-responding screen, in about 8-12mins it will start to work again.

I run the same Graphics card as you (mines a XFX5770 though) and have the same issues.

Note – a Perm Fix is to Format and Install Win8 from a Fresh Perspective then lay out your Drivers. Or Reinstall Win7(which STILL runs games better then Win8), Upgrading Windows causes weirdness like this.
