World Map Lag
I have been experincing this problem as well, it did not show up until after the last update. I am running a new mac book pro.
Chemistry can be a good and bad thing. Good when you make love with it. Bad when you make crack.
Same here. Didn’t start happening until after the most recent patch. It doesn’t happen that often but it is annoying when it does. The main thing that happens to me is that you’ll try to zoom out and nothing will happen. I keep trying to zoom out more and nothing happens. Then I’ll try to to close the world map and nothing happens. If I wait a few seconds longer everything I tried to do will magically happen resulting in this entertaining zoom out as fast as you can and then close affect. Kind of funny, but would rather it not happen. I am using a 2011 Macbook Pro 2 Ghz Intel Core i7 on version 10.8.2. Thanks!
Same issue here, started happening recently. Map is super choppy, won’t pan smoothly.
iMac i7 Dual something-or-otherGhz with 8Gb RAM
Same thing here. Very random slowness using map. I can play for hours and its ok then all of a sudden when I hit “M” it will come up quick but I cannot click or drag or zoom and everything is super delayed. Not sure how to fix it but I wish Anet would look at this issue. Other than that no problems with this game what-so-ever!

Same problem on my Core i7. Usually, minutes after lauching the game, map works just fine. Probably some kind of a code loop bug that slows it down after awile…
Same for me!

Same here, I have the 21" iMac from 2011. It’s been happening for a while now and is extremely annoying. I’ve found a short fix is to go back to character select and go back in.
I have since changed my frame limiter setting to 60 fps and this has seemed to take care of the map lag issue for quite some time now. Obviously I dont want to do this permanently but it seems to be the current band-aid fix that works thus far. Just thought I would pass this on for others to try which might lead to hopefully a resolution from Anet.
Just curious, why would you not use the 60fps limiter permanently? It’s actually a good idea, your screen likely doesn’t refresh faster than 60Hz anyway, and with the limiter in place you can avoid taxing your hardware more than neccessary.
Not the refresh rate, the fps limiter. These are two separate options in the game.

This worked for me!
I have same problem, going to try this fix when I get home.
Same problem and same solution, setting it to 60fps solved it.

Yes, but they are pretty much the same thing. The monitors refresh rate, or Hertz, is 60Hz on most Mac displays. At 60Hz it can update it’s display 60 times per second, i.e. 60fps.
