Wth is wrong with this game ?!?
pretty much happening to like 30% of people playing…
gw2 is a great game but got the worst programming that I ever saw.
Yes, it sucks and there is 90% chance it will never be fixed. Before I bought this game I checked the website and asked 100 times if they offer a free trial or some kind of demo version to see how It will perform on my PC but nope they were just like buy this game and if you dont like it screw you.
90% chance huh?
Where did you pluck that figure from? Already the patch from yesterday improved FPS for some people. A little patience would do you wonders.
I know some of you have waited 5 years for this game and waiting for it to work to your standards sucks, but bad attitude won’t get it fixed any quicker.
The patch yesterday did increase my fps.
Well my FPS is at around 40-50ish in WvW, 80-95ish normal. So yes, Anet is working on it, or Nvidias new Driver helped out a bit.

A quick word on overclocking GPUs and VRAM: setting them to the max is not always guaranteed to give you the best performance.
Due to data transfer times, number of clock cycles required to complete operations and a lot of other technical stuff, there are optimum pairings between GPU clock and VRAM clock settings. If the pairing you chose didn’t have the right frequencies, then it could make your GPU performance worse than just using the default clock speeds because of all the wait states, data collisions, and delays it can cause.
You should probably check an overclocking website and see what they have to say. They should give a list of the fastest and most stable clock pairings for most graphics cards.
Actually, in GW2 is the CPU the bottleneck.
Not the GPU.
Im gonna paste a reply to that from another forum;
“In a normal PC, even a weak GPU MASSIVELY outperforms a strong CPU in GPU-stuff. If ArenaNet for some reason decided to use the CPU for rendering (essentially not using hardware acceleration), this game would already be lost.
the CPU is not used for rendering. If this game actually was running in softwaremode, it would be unplayable.
Just to make this point clear:
Transfering rendering work from a relatively weak GPU to a relatively strong CPU would NOT increase performance. Quite the opposite actually. I’m pretty sure Arenanet knows this.
Alright, so why does the game use so much CPU power, if the CPU is essentially used for the exact same stuff that other games use it for? Just because it’s called mmorpg doesn’t mean that it now magically needs twice as much CPU power
We have various game engines who are able to display hundreds of animated actors, flawlessly, on a dual core
People think this game is “CPU bound”, because Arenanet is using the CPU in a bad way.
in reality, the CPU is doing the exact same stuff that a CPU has to do in other games. Except that they’re doing it wrong. Maybe they’re doing collision checks across large areas. Maybe their pathfinding sucks. Who knows
MMOs often have higher CPU requirements, because they’re subject to ongoing change – Code needs to be edited throughout development after it’s release, so it needs to be kept somewhat readable and understandable. Optimized code can be quite difficult to read and change. But even under those circumstances, GW2’s current state is laughably bad."
However, I dont believe there will be a quick fix to this issue. I think its too late for that now, and hence unfortunately I dont see any near future patch wich will solve the problems for the specific cards whos been hit the worst (6xx series)
