account terminated last nite
Mine was terminated last night as well for some form of botting apparently. I’ve done nothing close to that and hope it gets sorted out soon. It just booted me out of the game last night when I thought my game just crashed. Then when I try to log back in it said that my account has been terminated =/ .

I wonder, does anet have 2 different team that do the banning and lifting the ban? How does the process really work? I was banned last night because it was flagged for botting. I’m pretty sure it was reported by another player. I was running with the plinx group to farm karma, a lot of people are doing the same thing. And surely, quite a few of the people posted here get ban for plinx events. About 20 min after I sent in for support, my ban was lifted after review.
Now, I’m confused…who does the review on the account to ban people, and who does the review to lift the ban? Instead of wasting people’s game time, why not do a thorough review and not wrongfully ban someone that’s is actually sit there and plays their game.
I play when I get home from work and on my days off. I log out of game when I need a break. My character is never idle on auto attack in any situations. I play a thief, I don’t see how anyone can actually bot with this fragile job. When people bot, don’t they leave the character logged in all day?
So what is the real method of flagging someone’s account? A player’s report then ban, if they summit a ticket for support, review and lift the ban if they’re wrongly accused?
Sanctum of Rall
There is no way to know.
I know for certain there have been many cases where it wasn’t individually looked in to.
I as well as many others do not farm. I do not have mass amounts of gold, I do not afk.
I spend about 95% of all of my time in WvW Pvping other players with my guild. the other 5% is running TA to get the skins.
There is no way Arenanet looked into it before banning me or they would have seen them and I have demanded an explanation as to why flagged players are now automatically being banned. Of course people in WvW who don’t like me because I am a tanky elementalist healer are going to report me for heal hacking or hacking to reduce damage or movement hacking on thief or whatever, but if someone actually took the care to just watch me for 20 minutes covertly, they would see otherwise.
This has been handled so poorly and people are still getting banned as we speak like this. I am very unhappy as a customer with the service I am receiving, and on a holiday weekend I am going to have to spend my time doing other things than running the GW2 recruiting event in my guild where I was avidly going to get people who don’t have the game to actually play this game via the new free trail system on the 12th.
That most assuredly is now not happening I would not recommend a game to my friends where the Anet team makes such obvious and wide-spread mistakes as auto-banning.
I was banned last night as well. I do nothing but the PVE part of the game and run with a few friends now and then. No way I was botting . I sent a letter to support last night at around 9:50pm and am yet to get a responce or have my account reinstated. Any one know how long will may have to wait for a responce?
I was also banned last night and am mystified by the situation. I wish the error codes or some such had a little more detail on what is going on. It is very frustrating as it is a great game and have immense fun playing it. I hope whatever has happened to so many people will be an abberation and won’t mar what I find to be otherwise a great experience.
I was last night as well, Furgesons Crossing server.

Then why?
Why is there no function that can at least give us specifics as to why we were banned such as we found “such and such” program on your computer, or “You were farming in the same spot for 5 hours.” or “Players in PVP flagged you as suspicious”.
Why can’t we know when banned, especially if it is a mass ban of people that have not been proven guilty of a ban?
I am very peeved that we can’t at least know why we are being accused so we can try to help get it lifted faster.
This is a holiday weekend for most of us and was going to be an eventful one with the invite your friends event. this whole false ban wave really hurt that objective.
