Hi
First things first – i know nothing about computers, i will not pretend to sighs but i will try and relay as much helpful information as i can.
I installed GW2 last night and the download finished this morning, everything was running smoothly, as it used to with World of Warcraft and Skyrim, except the LAG (student internet) and usual freakish overheating – which always has me concerned. Around 4pm it started crashing regularly but the rest of my computer worked. I could ctrl-alt-delete to get to task manager and it said everything was responding and running fine, and everything else worked. The crash goes like this
everything works fine, then the screen (except the mouse) goes black, i can move the mouse around but nothing happens, no buttons do anything, and the background ambience and voices carry on as usual. There is never an error report because it says there wasnt an error to begin with and this only happens with GW2.
First thing, my poor lappy does get very hot, i think i know somebody who can get it looked at but i have serious money issues – this game was a gift if it comes down to repairs then repairs it shall be! as with only 9 hours playing intently i fell in love with the game – good sign for i am a fickle being.
Secondly, being that much of a computer novice i will just put down what information i can gather from my computer about my computer
Processor: AMD Turion™ X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-74 2.20GHz
Memory(RAM): 4.00GB
system type: 32-bit operating system
i think the graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 Series

before i fiddle around with installs/uninstalls i want to get some helpful advice from someone who could help uide me through the process for i am pretty slow with life at the moment let alone computers

thank you

Hi Sleepy – can you post the temperatures of your components? (You can get free software for this).

This does, however, sound like a driver issue more than anything – have you got the latest drivers for your graphics card?
