hi! I was considering buying an account for a friend to play. But I have a few concerns

1. is there any way at all, that by them having an account i paid for, that they would have access to my credit card information/email/full name/etc?

2. what would be the safest way to go about doing this? In case the friendship goes south, I mean. I was considering signing up with all my information and just giving him the log in, that way I could recover it at any time if need be

You might be able to gift the download version via Amazon but I’m not sure. Or gift him a digital Amazon gift card for them to use for it.

I believe Gaile has said that ANet considers the person who registers the account the owner. As long as you do NOTHING with the code besides forward it – do not create an account with it or register it – your friend should be fine

This indeed.
The buying of the account is totally separate from the use of the account and the creditcard-info isn’t stored in the account.

You have to let this friend make the account himself. If you don’t do it you actually risk what your are trying to avoid: Account ownership dispute.
