I’m currently trying to make a new character on Tarnished Coast. However every time I try I get the message “the game client is unable to get access to the login server”. I’ve checked my computer, reseted my wireless router and can even log in with my other existing characters. What is going on?

Same here. I was trying to find which race/gender looks best as my new Guardian alt when I hit this roadblock.

Same thing happening to me on one of my alt accounts. I made a new character on my primary, earlier yesterday, and it worked fine.

Same issue as everyone else and I just bought the game and wanted to start playing. So far my investment looks pretty bad.

I’m also having this problem im trying to make and engineer but as soon as i finish the last step it tells me i can’t connect to the server but not even 10 hrs ago i made a warrior with no problems.

I’m having the same problem. I really wanted to play today.

Interesting. I just created a temp character less than two hours ago without problems. Decided I didn’t like something about it and deleted it. Took my time with a replacement, and I hit this error when trying to enter the name in the last step.

Apparently this issue is on-and-off today.

@beefarooni: Your investment is fine, it’s just a temporary glitch. I can’t recall ever having a problem like this before. Just unlucky timing for you.

I’ve already sent a ticket for the support team, you guys should do the same.

Have the same problem. Can’t make a new character.

I would submit a ticket but I am not sure how. Have owned this game for less than 24 hours

I created a character that I really like, haha. This is terrible timing.

I tweeted to them, hopefully someone is watching. This is a critical game breaking issue right now (not trying to be dramatic.. I will live, but imagine for first time players!)

Yep I hope it gets fixed soon.

At character creation (Code=42:22:2:224:101) this error happens at the last step 10/10 for me. I have empty slot. I have also created another char not long ago.

I just bought the game yesterday. I was able to make one character this morning.. but I am having the same issue now as all of you.

I just bought the game for my sister. Now neither of us can make a character so we can play together.

Oh heavens. I just supported a ticket on this issue. Should’ve checked the forums first. I’m sure ANet is on top of it as it’s this widespread.

Edit: I see you have posted (a couple of times) in Tech Support. You would need to wait for answers, and the Techs don’t watch the forums 24/7. Or contact CS.
