Anyone know what’s up? For the whole of Wintersday I’ve chalked it up to my pi** poor internet (Thank you very much, HughesNet for nothing!) But now, I’m starting to wonder as all the little kiddies have gone back to school and peeps are back to work. The lag is off the charts still… PINGS @ upwards of 5k over the past two weeks!!!! But the client still crashes even during HughesNet downtime…, such as 3AM! (PINGS between 1.5-3k at this time.)

Here’s the code again; code = 42:0:9001:4402:101

Running on:

Intell Core i5-6600K CPU @ 3:50GHz
8 GB
64 bit OS, x 64 bit based processor.
Win. 10

Satellite Internet is terrible for online gaming because latency is always going to be very high compared to cable or DSL. 5K is way above normal, so you should probably contact HughesNet. Typically your pings will probably be between 500 and 1000 ms.

Thanks for your reply, Abomally. Trust me, i would have cable in a heartbeat if I could get it. But I live way out in the country and neither cable or DSL are available to me. I’ll give them a call…what good it’ll do…that is another story. But thx.

You’re welcome.

One thing you can do (if you have good reliable cell phone coverage) is to get a 3G/4G adapter for your computer that connects to your cell provider’s network. They have good latency and speed; but you’ll need to set it up with your cell provider.

Here’s an example:
