Heya, I’ve tried the new authenticator and I feel a lot safer, but I’ve got a problem:

Since I play on my computer AND my laptop, I have the problem that I have only one desktop authenticator on my tower and none on my laptop. I can download the authenticator aswell but I cannot bind 2 of them to my GW2 account.

Am I missing something? Can anyone help me here? This way I have to start my computer at home and check the auth code via team viewer when I visist friends and want to play GW2 there … this really sux :<

Any ideas? Or remove the authenticator again :< ?

Authenticators, I use WinAuth, are really independent to copies of the game. What you need to do is set up an authenticator with the same 16 character “secret code”. You wrote that down, didn’t you?

If you use WinAuth I know you can extract it a couple of ways. Easiest is right click on the Guild Wars 2 label and select “Show Secret Key …” and use that when setting up the authentictor on the laptop.

My home system and my parent’s (when I visit) are now setup and their IP remembered.

The other possibility is use an authenticator on your phone or tablet. Google has one for Android I know.

when you setup the 2 step , under the “SEND VERIFICATION CODE” button, you see the “Don’t have SMS? Use an authenticator.”Link. after click it and Next button, you should see the secret code. Write it down and you can use it to setup at many as Authenticators you want.

After seting up, just goto another IP computer and test login one day later. In my case, another Ip computer login works just fine when right after I setup the Authenticator. but no longer work in the next day. unlink and resetup make the another computer login works again but broken a day later. Tried 3 times, same story. reset it back to email way before my home ISP changed my home’s PC IP address. I don’t want to wait half day for CS of anet unlink for me.
