Q:

I completely uninstalled and removed all related files waited a couple of weeks and just tried to reinstall again, but I’m stuck at this blank client screen downloading 0KB at 0KB/sec.

I’ve tried all the reddit fix attempts nothing seems to work.

I decided to dl another game to see if its me. BnS dl just fine, plays just fine.

Have you tried Anet’s own troubleshooting steps?

Start by making a “Guild Wars 2” folder on your desktop, rename Gw2Setup(-64).exe to Gw2.exe and put it in that folder. Right click Gw2.exe, then run it as an administrator just to test. You can move this folder wherever you want later.

It’s likely failing to download from your local asset server. You can manually try a different one by using the -assetsrv command, but do note that the IPs can change over time. You could also try using Google’s DNS as a permanent solution. For -assetsrv, enter the following into the address bar of the folder containing Gw2.exe and hit enter (or you could make a shortcut):

Gw2.exe -assetsrv 52.84.16.151

You can lookup other IPs yourself by opening a command prompt (cmd.exe) and entering the following command:

nslookup assetcdn.101.ArenaNetworks.com

… or using Google’s DNS:

nslookup assetcdn.101.ArenaNetworks.com 8.8.8.8

If it still fails, use the -log command, then open %appdata%/Guild Wars 2/Gw2.log to see where it’s getting stuck.

Gw2.exe -log
