If you have concerns about your Support Account, you can contact Support, and discuss it with them. When I visit the Support website, I only see their notice about phishing emails. Good luck. =)
alright, thanks. no i dont really have any concerns really, just wondering why they keep sending me emails telling me to click on stuff. im no stranger to this since ive been playing MMO’s since 1999, but since the same email is listed under my account with them opening up a ticket, and sending me that email without me having any open tickets for 4 months, just wondering what is going on.
i will talk to them and see what is going on. thanks.

Remember, the phishing emails are NOT from ArenaNet, even though they have faked the from address to look as though they are.

No, they’re spoofing ANet’s email address and sending you to a fake site made to look like Guild Wars 2. It would be hard to steal login information if the link took you to a website that didn’t at least try to look like it was legit.
Just thought I’d inform of a New Phishing scam email that’s about That I got this morning. It had the GW2 Logo Looked rather legit however It tried to state due to a payment not going thru that my account was getting Shut down. It also states in this email that you get a 72 hour ban. didn’t make sense but like most of these emails ( I’ve seem plenty from WoW gaming) I didn’t click no links but the link they had when hoovered had .tk at the end.
This email is plenty to put fear not just in your account closing, banned for nothing but Credit card users may wanna be aware also.
I know from reading over forums you guys don’t have a hacks or abuse section to report headers of these such emails but its prolly an Idea to consider it will end up a monster later on.
I will add this one to my sticky thread on the subject, but can you send me the exact email content via PM? Thanks.

Seems like they’re getting pretty good at these phishing scams.
This one goes to:
http:// support.guildwars2 .com.mxnz.pw/
and asks for username + password.
Why must there be A holes trying to steal everything, even video game accounts? It must be the economy or something.

@tornadokicks…You really should remove that picture, or at least, remove your name and email address from it. It also looks as though you clicked the links in it to get to the scam website, so it might be prudent to change your email and account passwords to prevent any compromises of your account. Good luck. =)

yes, yes, I’ve read all the instructions, it’s really quite sad how many hoops must be jumped through to get something done around here.
My personal email isn’t even this ridiculous, and I have millions of dollars in paper assets in my email.
WHO?? actually knows what their serial key is. screw that. kitten was deleted a long time ago LOL.
Anyhow, I want my email address changed. I sent in a ticket about an hour ago and no one responded. This will need to be done today since I’m closing my other email account tonight.
Quick and easy fix, just update the email address on my account or give me the big boy button to do it myself as I see fit and I’ll be on my way.
this isn’t a request that can linger for 2 days. Ok? Treat me well, and I’ll do the same for you. that’s how a business relationship works.

Thanks Inculpatus cedo. I’ve submitted a case for about a week now but seem to hopeless and helpless .I keep update and the case keep closing with no reply, feeling so angry & sad.

Hi, first of all, I’m writing this on the account of my girlfriend since I can’t access mine anymore.
A while ago (around christmas) someone sold me his Guild Wars 2 copy and allowed my computer so I was able to play the game. I then deleted his characters and created mine, changed the password without problem and all was for the best. Then I kinda stopped playing for a month or two and wanted to get back to the game a couple of days ago.
However, I was sent an account verification email for some reason. Problem is, it’s still not on my email and of course I don’t have access to the previous game owner email.
I submitted a ticket explaining my situation, but never got an answer (I asked to be contacted via my own email of course, but I guess the answer was sent to the guy’s email)
All of this to say I would like to have a follow through on this and change his email for mine.
Here is my current email address.
super.turnip@hotmail.com
Like I said, I’m not writing this on my own account and I’m ready to answer any questions as best as I can to prove I really own the game…
Thank you in advance

@ice…if you post your ticket number in this thread, https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Tickets-for-Review-3-days-and-older-merged/page/72#post2106812, the Support Liaison may look at your case. Again, it would be best if you removed your personal email addresses from your pictures.

As it is against the ToS to share, loan, sell, give, lend your game account, I am not sure anything can be done for you. It is also unwise to publicly post your personal email address as that can be used to hack the account. Your best bet would be to contact the original owner and work it out with him, if possible. These kind of problems are why it is not allowed to sell or share or give away accounts. Good luck. =)
Thanks you , Inculpatus cedo. I’ve removed my email address from all the images .

Removed them. Not too worried about them knowing my email address anyway since it seems they already know that, with or without me clicking the link in the email.
My password on the other hand is a different story. If I input that into the box in the page and submitted it, then I’d be worried.

I think there is actually one link in some of those emails that’s legit; the link that just takes you to the support page. The links at the beginning, though, to “verify your account” are not. That’s probably what happened.

Oh hey, I got the “Guild Wars 2 Account Will Be Shut Down” phishing scam too! XD I find it particularly amusing how the scammers try to further entice their victims into clicking on the link by advertising a “mystery gift” if their attempt was incorrect.
I got the “mystery gift” one today as well.
Gaile, I’d offer to PM it to you in its entirety, but it’s already posted multiple times in this thread. Of course, if it will help, just say the word.
I’m tempted to simply reply to the email informing them that I’m investigating them “for further investigation be” and demanding that they send my Balthazar-blasted mystery gift at once.

You can’t reply to the mail, cause they spoofed the arenanet adress, so a witty reply will end up in arenanets inbox and prolly deleted. The real scammer is gonna make sure he is unreachable. He has no interest in your reply, but in your account details. He is a bad person and there is not much to be done bout them.
The scammer doesnt know you have access to the game. In the past I had simular mails for e.g. World of Warcraft (wich I never played).

Yes don’t reply to it, this is a mass phising e-mail they are sending out. I got one on an e-mail account that has never been associated with the game. That’s why its called “phishing” they don’t know what or if they are going to catch someone or if your playing the game..

Oww – too trusting on anything coming to my mail from Arenanet.
I have 2 accounts from same AP and different email accounts. Did my daily on one and then swapped to the other and promptly got a message saying new IP please authenticate. I opened email but before the authenticate email arrived I saw this other one from Anet. I filled it all out and hit the link to verify. Then up comes Google Chrome or kaspersky saying they had blocked access to known phishing site.
I straight away closed all and logged into my GW account to change the password because I have no idea if they got my data or not.
To be safe I will transfer funds to the other account and let it be the key holder of my stuffz for a while.
Darn phishers – and I am once bitten and wiser.
Don’t reply to the emails. First, the reply will probably go to ArenaNet’s no-reply email address and you won’t get a reply, so you’d be wasting your time. Second, if the reply DID go to the phishers, they’d know your email address was active and you could end up on yet more spam lists.

You ask yourself from where they get your email ? It can go from facebook to your little local newspaper website where you made an account on. Any website can be used to get the email of a person.

It’s probably via Facebook they got the details. Due to the fact I have two Guild Wars I accounts I don’t use my primary e-mail for Guild Wars 2. However the scam message came to me on the primary E-Mail.

I think its very unlikely. Facebook doesnt give out or publish your emailadres and actually makes a specific facebook emailadres they want people to use (nobody I know does that though). So this means facebook was hacked and I think that would be big news.
I got the same mail too and this one as well.

They ended up in my spam folder, which made me suspicious since I’m not blocking ANet.
So always be careful about emails that want you to give them your account info, Anet will never ask you to do that.
I liked the part about sending me a mystery gift. What surprise surprise we cleaned out your inventory for you, wasn’t that nice.
