I don’t think that’s the same to be honest. The issue that the thread is discussing is quite old, and the official one that Swisscom are reporting is 4 days old, but them problem only started at about 1030 this morning.

I can very rarely log in with my main on the overflow server but as soon as i accept to switch to home i have the same error back again…

Control the City it gives in the autentication mail. Maybe try restart the router to change IP

since this morning, report a lot of people, that there are some i-net sites are not awailable. some write they can’t connect guild wars 2.

This is hilarious reading that everyone is from Switzerland, guess what, me too! Also with Swisscom. I honestly think it’s a problem with Swisscom as no other users like sunrise, cablecom or others are complainning about this…Someone bother to phone Swissom lol.
Yet another person from Switzerland using Swisscom with the same error. I got in twice with my alt where it logged me into the overflow server. But as soon as I tried to join the main server I got the error again.

For those that want to, transferring to a US server still works and allows you to play. You have to cope with lag though and obviously not playing with friends for the moment.
Did they say in the forum what sites are not accessible since this morning? Literally the only thing I’ve had any problem with is GW2. All other sites and services are working as normal, from what I can see.

How long does it take for a transfer? And does transferring make you quit the guild? Say I want to come back tomorrow when the problem is resolved?

Yep same problem here with swisscom too i wonder if it’s not the provider of many company like blizzard etc they havee a provider for dns a while ago i was having so trouble with wow and bf3 i wansn’t hable to logg in the game etc. And not its the same it’s been since 13:00 when i go to any pvp or instance zone wich gave me that error. I try open dns/ ip fix / dmz / have all ports open for gw2 same problem. i think it’s an arena net problem like many ppl said if they transfer to us that’s working so i my conclusion it’s an arena net europe provider have issue on europe.

It doesn’t break Guilds, it takes about a minute for the transfer to take effect and you can transfer as often as you want while they’re still free. I trust Anet will give some notice as to when you’ll need to pay for them again – but I’m not 100% sure on that.

Transfer to American servers and you can play…
I think the problem is only for the EU servers :>

It’s nice that they can get moderators to delete posts about whether or not certain sites are working but no one can be bothered to give us a reply.
Same ISP, same problem. I do’t believe ANet can do anything about it. We must probably just wait and try not to troll this forum too much :P
Does anyone know any workaround for this … some proxy perhaps?

Swisscome user here too. Can’t even reach the char selection screen most of the time. Who tripped over the optical fiber cable?

I confirm that I live in Switzerland and am using Swisscom… BUT!
I can also confirm that I only have problems with characters that are in cities…
I have one character that is in Caledon Forest and approximately 85% of the times I can login with it easily, which makes this whole issue all the more sexy if you ask me…

So, some more points, maybe they will help. This whole issue came up for me a few hours ago when I tried to travel to a city (The Grove). It went to error and since then I can’t login with any of the characters that are in cities.
Furthermore, the character where it broke is now stuck in the following process:
1a. Tries to take me to Caledon Forest approximately 85% of the time.
2a. 10% it fails without any POI/Vista information, 90% it captures POI and Vista information.
3a. It then teleports me to Caledon Forest for a split second, but immediately starts loading The Grove.
4a. While loading The Grove I receive POI and Vista information (updated), but it ultimately doesn’t load The Grove.
1b. In 15% of the cases it directly starts loading The Grove, without it even acquiring POI and Vista information and of course not loading the map.
Of course, this is all assuming I don’t get the 58 error right in the login UI (around 10% of the cases).

my character is stuck in the Mount Maelstorm Area, and I can’t even play with a new created one.

Yes, I used an American server to teleport my character out of a town, and now, back in my european server, I can play without any problem

like i said, i don’t believe it to be a swisscom thing. anet probably changed something because some people experienced the exact same thing yesterday.
