error loging in
Ditto just started showing up today
same here, getting the error
I have had the same error since Friday the 7th.
Any official word on this? Irritating not being able to log in
Exact same problem here can’t log can’t play. everything else is working fine (other games, web browser and so on).
This probably won’t help anyone, but I was having this issue a little while ago. My laptop bluescreened while trying to connect to a private VPN of mine. Upon booting back up, I was able to login just fine.
So make sure you’ve tried restarting your computer….for whatever reason.
same here. Sometime log in try play then got freeze computer plox Help.
same here.
hope it gets fixed soon
Got it resolved. Tried restarting pc. After that, upon launching gw2 I got asked to allow gw2 trough firewall (which I wasn’t asked before) and after allowing it, game regularly started, no issues at all.
Decided I would start playing the game again and when I patched up and put my password in then I keep getting this error.
Error Code: 42:0:9001:4148
The game client is unable to gain access to the log-in server at this time. This is most commonly caused by firewall or router settings, security applications, or connecting through a campus network. For additional support, please visit…
I have disabled all firewalls and security applications and still get the same error. I am not connected to a campus network. I haven’t changed anything on my router settings since I played a few months ago (when it worked just fine).
Can anyone help? As otherwise I just won’t bother coming back playing again
Got this error today, so here is what I done.
In windows 7 (with windows firewall), you have to go to Control Panel > System Security (depending on the view) > Windows Firewall and here from the left bar choose Allow a program or a feature through the firewall. Now you should see a list of all the installed programs; click on Change Settings and allow Guild Wars 2 clients through both local and public networks.
For other firewall apps the steps should be almost the same, instead of Windows Firewall it should be from the settings of the firewall app.
Change this at your own risk.
In my case, I see 4 clients for Guild Wars 2 (2 pointing to appdata\local\temp\gw2.exe and 2 pointing to guild wars 2\gw2.exe), I don’t know why is that, maybe one for private networks and one for public. Hopefully there wasn’t a breach in security. Maybe someone from ANET should clarify what happened.
I just got the same error and I’ve been trying to get into the game for 4 days now and still nothing. Sometimes I’m able to to log in but when i click on my character it kicks me off and says error. Please help
