Ok, so this happened a while back when my only character was my main character, Stealthy Britches. Someone apparently misread the name or thought I meant to use it as a swear word. I posted on the forums explaining that was not my intention, I happen to like the word britches, I think it’s very cute. You can check my forum post history, it’s probably still there. Anet agreed that yes, it was acceptable to use the word britches in my name, and I was allowed to keep it.

Since then I made more characters and named two more with britches in the name because that’s how I came to be referred to by members of my guild and my server community, it became sort of my identity. I logged in today and I’m being forced to rename all three characters? For what? Using a legitimate word? I get censoring obvious inappropriate names but this is pretty ridiculous and upsetting to me.

Please let me know what I have to do to be able to keep my names.

Nothing, you cannot have that name. If you are required to rename your characters, it is because someone else found it offensive and reported you. Time to move on.

There is literally nothing offensive about it.

You contacted the CS Team about it last time; nothing has changed. You will need to contact the CS Team, again.

same case with me….i put TLTS as my charater name…thats my full name in real life in short i even have my id card to prove it =(

OP, There is nothing offensive about the word itself, but it’s very close in sound and spelling to another word that is a problem. It’s literally one letter difference. That’s undoubtably why you had to change it.

You can always contest it but since it’s so similar to the other word it probably won’t be allowed.

Contact support with a link to the post of the anet employee that confirmed the name name was ok. You should get them back no problem in my opinion (if that was the infact the case).
