Hi, are the free boost lv80 given armors and weapons is time limited use? just found out my whole stacks of free armors and weapons from the boost gone today.

I use the boost on my only main warrior somewhere around the boost was introduced, which is already lvl 80, since i already have ascended gears, i moved all the free exotic armors and weapons into my bank, last tab, 12th tab.

I do not really always monitor the last tab, but kinda remember those items still there few days ago, and just now when i look at the last tab, they all gone.

I have not move those armors and weapons around since i put them in, so it is not accidentally deleted, especially they are over 10+ items.

The only thing i think maybe related is i done a lvl 10 free lion key run yesterday, after does not do this quite some time.
I deleted a emptied character, which i always use last time for lion key, the character definately do not have the missing items in it. Then create a character with same name, finish the free lion key, transfer back the key and items back to bank, but does not delete the character until next run.

So, are those free boost armors and weapons have limited life span? or the server wrongly deleted them?

Edit: the items missing also including all the Rings and accessories etc.

You do realize the gear was soul-bound to whoever opened/consumed the chests/gizmos.

The point was, they were soulbound armor, meaning you couldn’t move them to the key run character. The only character that can touch the armor is your level 80 you opened the boost with.

yes, i login in with my lvl80 character (the same character which open the lvl80 boost and received the exotic gears, which the one and only lvl80 i have), the missing gears still missing from bank tab.
It is total 18 items leaving whole block of emptiness in the last tab which was fill.

If a level 80 consumes the boost item you do not receive any gear just the boost package.

What I could see happening is you did the trail on a different character and moved the gear to your bank. From there you used it on your main which then made the trial character revert back to his normal level and removed the gear which was placed in the bank.

I haven’t used mine yet since I’m saving it just incase I feel a need for a new character.

Opening it on a level 80 character does give a warning in red that you will only receive these items and gear isn’t on that list.

“only grant you the endgame reward” mean not given free gears? There is no description what is the line mean.

Also, the server already given me the gears, and now it just remove them after few months later without any announcement or notice are ok for a user?

What if the character was Lvl 50, lvl 79 (before knowing the boost coming out) , or one character use level tomes to gain at certain lvl, and then use the boost?
So 1 Lvl now away grant you different gears (when you invested love on the journeys of character and do not want to delete them)?

Still waiting on the CS reply. But still, the line mean nothing, seeing the extra spacing, adding 7 words “and you will not getting exotics gears” is too much?

Still, removing those items few months later is unacceptable.

A few months? It’s only been 3 weeks since the Spring Update.

Why would they add lines describing what you won’t get when they show a complete list of everything a character does receive?

And seeing from others and your views, removing those items quietly after it already been given is ok?

As noted above, you will have to discuss it with the CS Team. If they were taken in error, perhaps they will replace them.

I opened mine on a lvl 80 too just to get rid of it. You do get a box that contains weapons & armor. But that box and the armor inside are SOULbound to the level 80 that consumed the level up item.

I had personally hoped to maybe use the free gear on a future character, but alas it could not be. I deleted mine as the character I consumed the lvl 80 boost on has full ascended and no use for exotic equipment.

If the OP put the chest of gear in his bank it should be there or on the character that consumed the boost. Since the OP also already has ascended gear on his lvl 80 I don’t know what they want with the exotic gear. It cannot be transferred to another character. I can’t be salvaged and it cannot be thrown into the forge. And you only get the one default stat set. It is literally a waste of bank space if your character is geared out already.

And yes, i purposely bought the a new bank tab at that time just to put in those exotic gears, to be tested later, just saying.

If it’s any consolation, you aren’t the only one that has experienced Level-80 Boost gear loss. There are a few other posts about it, as well.

I’m sure, if possible, the CS Team will assist you.

Yes, just got reply and item returned, seen Anet still working on the bug, the advice is do not put the gears in bank, i will keeping the “level80 equipment package” in my bag without open it for now…

Hello C,
I was able to verify that you did indeed have these items previously from the level 80 booster. I have sent you a Equipment Chest that should contain most of the items you lost. Make sure to accept this mail on your Warrior as the items will be soulbound upon acquire.
We have been having some issues when players put these items in their bank so until this gets fixed could you please keep the items on your character at all times. Let me know what all items you appear to be missing now!

I’m having this exact issue. I put my level 80 boost gear into the last bag of my bank and today every last piece is now missing. Sent a ticket, waiting on a response now. Very unhappy camper. :

O.O the bug/“feature” happen again, just found out the old set is disappear again from my bank today, after the 1st incident.
Only thing i could remember is i log on to my very old Rev character, and test play for like 30 minutes, then log out.
will have to create a support ticket again….

Did the CS Team not warn you about putting that armor in the bank? As far as I know, there’s not been a fix for that particular ‘bug’.

firstly, there isn’t a record for this as a ongoing bug in bug tracker,

then i would view the item deletion as a high priority which should not take 10 months not confirming and not fixing.

Next, you expect someone carrying 18 gears in a limited bag slots. And it is a bury head in the sand advice.

Lastly, the dev would be grateful if the bug keep reappearing, in a same account to narrow down the bug hunt, both time i specified a possible cause, which is logging to a 2nd character that is rarely play.

Do be aware: Not all bugs are listed in the Known Issue Tracker. In fact, percentage-wise, few are listed, as noted on the Known Issue Tracker page.

It was just some advice not to put the L80 Boost Armor in the bank to avoid the issue. One can, of course, do as one pleases.

As GM Beast T informed you, this is a known issue when placing these items in the bank. Please do not place this set in the bank unless you no longer need the items any longer as they can not be sold, salvaged, or Mystic Forged anyway.

From what i get from this, 10 months later, there is still a item validity checking bug hidden (or not “bug”), and the incident of the GW2 first ever server rollback, where the character bound items mixed up which quite similar as logging another character, would resurface someday or when another new boost item that is obtainable.

As noted above, don’t place these items in the bank, if you wish to retain them.

I’m not sure it has anything to do with the Server roll-back; I believe the bug existed before that (since L80 Boost inception).
