for some reason i can play the game for hours with normal ping 70~100 and then for no reason my ping jump to like 2000-4000 and the game is just unplaybe i tried open some ports and it didnt help and i dont know how to fix it can some one please help me to solve this

It has been very bad for the wife and I today. Nearly unplayable, anytime a fight begins where there are more than two player characters on the screen. Lag shoots sky high and performance goes in the toilet. Anyone else having simialar issues?

I have had the same thing going on since yesterday evening.
It was all fine on the middle of the day and in the morning but in the evening it started to lagg a lot.. I was able to chat but the game did not play, started on opening up some ports but it didn’t work, tried to reboot my router but also no help.
It made me stop playing and now still it is going bad..

You guys all need to run pingplotter and determine where the problem is.
It may not be your end, but it may not be Anet’s end either. It could be any one of the several nodes your connection passes through. All these other nodes are owned and maintained by 3rd-party companies. Your ISP pays these 3rd-party companies for the use of their nodes. Download “Pingplotter”, it will show you where the problem is. Facebook, YouTube and zillions of other website will work fine because their servers are in different locations and you connection to them takes a different route than it does to the Anet servers.

Run pingplotter, if you see the words Level3 or Telia anywhere in the middle of your route, there is a 99.9% chance that is where the problem is.

Just use the game’s built-in network diagnostic tools (which is actually just Windows’s tracer, ping etc. programs). No need for further tools to download.

Just run GW2.exe with the parameter -diag
The test takes a couple of minutes and you get the results in a handy .txt file.

I had random lag problems and lost 49 out of 50 packages on a certain node, as Gator above me mentioned, it was Telia. Stopped playing for 2 days and it went fine.

I used pingplotter and got 90% packet loss on one of the hops between me and the server. kitten I live in Dallas, may as well bicycle down to the server center and hook in directly.

Some of us have been having this same issue for a while now. Ping will be perfectly fine for a while and then it will steadily climb…40…120…240…500..1200…etc, and will stay like that. Logging out to the character select screen and back in again sometimes fixes it, but only temporarily, as it will just climb up again. Oddly, it seems worse in certain maps…Bloodstone Fen is TERRIBLE for me, while Lion’s Arch rarely gives me issues.

Contacting support is just a waste of time. They’ll tell you to download and use pingplotter and give them the results (telia will be the culprit), after which they’ll tell you it’s your issue and your problem to deal with.

Sadly for me the only way to fix it is to just wait it out. Sometimes the lag lasts 20 minutes, and sometimes it’s the rest of the night. >.<

Your packet loss is only from level 3. Of course it shows it on abet servers too because you are losing those packets from level 3.

Same here, only after the halloween patch. My latency before was stable and to add, I was playing wvw on EB with a full map with continuous big fights.

Last night I heard a lot of players from NZ got simultaneously disconnected.

My latency on other games such as Overwatch and cs:go remains the same.

I don’t know if it’s just Telia, but ever since I started playing this game (which is around August of this year), I haven’t experienced any major spikes or lag issues. Not until the Halloween patch came out. I tried the -diag parameter on Gw2.exe and it yielded some very disheartening results:

I thought maybe it would go away soon but I logged in to the game, every map that’s populated, I get spikes of up to 3k ping. Reminds me as to why I tried staying out of online games for a while.

As for now, I guess my lag-free bliss comes to an end today. I’ll check back and see if it recovers but I’m not too hopeful.

No doubt about it, its all Telia in your case. Contact your ISP and push them to help and don’t let them tell you there is nothing they can do.

I’ve contacted PLDT and I’m having the same issue as you. Usually around 10am our time, it will start to lag esp in WvW. PLDT told me they can’t do anything about it since it was about online games and I am already so full of their lame excuses and just accepted whatever they were telling me so if this continues, I’d be leaving this ISP and look for something better.

Our ISP has the worst customer service ever since there is really no competition here for ISP so they can just tell us to suck it up and hope it gets better, which never really happened ever. I can really say we’re pretty much kitten up.

I also tried to contact PLDT on a previous MMO that I play back then and got the same response. So I wouldn’t really try to do that frustrating thing again. Their support really has a lot of limitations and I doubt that a big company would change the paths they’re normally using just for one subscriber.

Well it sucks that they won’t do anything for you. In reality your ISP pays to use Telia’s service. There are things they can do but apparently refuse to do so. Best of luck.
