i7 4790k,gtx970, bad fps
Unforunitly yes the problem is with any system trying to render the constant changes that are happening while you play in WvW. When you run into a large group of charatures your system has to change the position of each charature and try to keep up with all the particle effects that are being displayed while they are casting skills. There can be as much as 50+ charature on your screen at on time so the system has to generate all that info at the best fps possable so for WvW you may have to sacrifice a little graphics quality to get a playable fps 30+ is the most you can hope for.
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens
thx for replying, btw what im annying is that my previous gpu was Gtx460(1G). but after changing to GTX970, FPS is same to previous one(gtx460)
i installed on ‘single pci express 3.0 x16’ at my mainboard
i tested my gtx970 by using 3dmark(fire-strike) and had a really good score, but i dont understand why i have bad fps on playing gw2
It’s not a graphics issue as you have proven. The game becomes CPU bound in large groups of players. No amount of GPU power will help that. Sorry.
RIP City of Heroes
a better graphics card can only excel if the software its rendering is coded good enough. So for the resolution you are playing at a gtx 460 seems to be enough given that you have a pretty good cpu with 4ghz out of box. So unless you go with a higher resolution or higher CPU clocks the gain in fps by adding a newer gpu (like 970) will make a minimalistic difference.
I noticed in WvW yesterday that my game kept lagging out if i opened the Guild window, When i went into the options menu to check Fps i noticed that if you open the guild window the Fps drops by half.
